Eufy cameras are a great choice.
We have now 7 cameras and the Home Base. These cameras are really good. They are clear and precise. The thing about the spotlight camera is it lights up on the simplest movement and takes very good pictures. I like that this camera follows the movement. It was easy to install. I ran romex wire to a light socket I have in my garage attic and wired in there. I am very pleased with Eufy cameras. I went to Scotland and over the internet I could see every time my house sitter came to every time my golden retriever walk in front of it.

Had a moisture problem! Things looking better with the replacement!
On a side note, I took it off human only motion detection to get a look at other activity during the night and it recorded the other visitors.02-08-2022 – Back to a 5-star as far as the equipment! Went through the ice storm and temperatures have been all over the place and still no moisture, so that’s a good thing and the camera is working great.*** The only issue now is access using Alexa and Google Home. I can control the lights with either one, but neither one will display the video, which they both used to be able to do. Not quite sure what’s up with that, it displays fine using the eufy app, but it would be nice to be able to see the video feed on the Echo show and the G-Max.02-03-2022 – We’re back up to a 4-star rating, it went through a blizzard, negative temperatures and back into the 40’s for the past couple of days and there hasn’t been any moisture. We’ve got an ice storm coming tomorrow and then back below freezing for the weekend. If all goes well the rating will go back up to 5 stars because everything else works great. And just an aside on tracking, it follows me around the yard when I am out there!01-25-2022 — Went up to a 2-star rating, heard back from eufy, received a replacement camera and installed it yesterday. Temperature was in the 40’s today, it will be back to single digit tomorrow and not expected to get above freezing for a week, so we shall see, fingers crossed! After I took the old camera down, I added another photo of the camera just to show that the moisture had returned.01-06-2022 — Went to a 1-star rating, after being back outside for 4 days, the moisture is back and covering the inside of the dome, which makes the view through the camera very blurry. Apparently, this camera can’t handle cold weather. Fortunately, this camera only does the back yard. If I ever hear back from Eufy I will update my review accordingly.01-02-2022 — After 9 days in the house the moisture was finally gone. I reconnected the wiring and hooked it back up today, the temperature was in the 50’s F (10’s C) tomorrow we will be in the 20’s F (-6’s C). Only time will tell what happens next, I will let you know! I have had a TRENDnet PTZ dome camera set up outside for years and never experienced any issues like this!12-28-2021 — Went to a 2-star rating. Ended up contacting Eufy and the suggestion was to use a blow-dryer to dry up the moisture. Seemed to work at first, but when I checked on it a few hours later there was more moisture inside the dome than when I began. This didn’t make any sense. Contacted Eufy about the results and NEVER heard back!12-27-2021 — Went to a 3-star rating. Noticed the video getting rather blurry/fuzzy, I figured the glass dome was probably dirty and needed to be cleaned. Went to clean the dome and found out that it wasn’t dirty, it was filled with moisture! Sent an email to Eufy support and got an automated response with one of the suggestions saying to disconnect the camera and bring it inside, apparently to warm up and have the moisture go away. So I had to disconnect the hard wired camera and bring it into the house, put it on the workbench in the room where the furnace is located and that’s where it’s been for the past 4 days. Some of the moisture has dissipated, but there’s still quite a bit there. Not sure how this is going to play out, or whether my rating goes back up or down even further. I’m not planning to have to do this on a regular basis! Now… The jury came back with a 5-star review after working with eufy support, which was quick and responsive. Ended up having to uninstall and reinstall the device from the App and then do a power cycle and everything worked like a charm. Can view the camera and control the light from both Google Home and Amazon Alexa. As for the motion tracking, that works like a charm also. It will lock on to you and follow you around the yard, even to the shed at the far end of the yard and then all the way back to the house right up to the point where you walk in the door. It even captures a screen shot of your face. Tried it on all motion but had to switch it back to human only when it started tracking birds! Has a lot of customizable features, for the light and for the camera. I’ve only just begun! Before… The jury is still out on this one! Had high hopes for this camera, not even going to get in to it’s functionality at this point other than my 2 main annoyances. Google home recognizes it only as a light and not as a camera. Amazon Alexa actually recognized it as a camera and a light, but now can no longer connect to it as a camera. So what’s up eufy!

    Great with no added costs
So far I’ve been rather pleased with this camera. A few things to note:1. It appears the camera, when set in “detect human only” gets confused with shadows created by plants or some trees.2. When motion is detected sometimes the recording starts immediately, other times after the individual has already progressed 20-25feet through the cameras field.Mind you I have the camera sensitivity setting to its maximum. The light is uber bright and I really like that I can change the intensity and hue to suit my needs. The set up was really straight forward and rather simplistic. They even include a hanging strap to hold the unit while connecting the wires when up on a ladder (kudos to Eufy for thinking of the safety of whomever will be installing the unit). It is a hardwired 110v AC device so, hire an electrician if you are uncomfortable doing simplistic wiring.I would like to see a “quick activation” to the 100Db alarm in the app, opposed to having to select the icon/select light or alarm/confirm. Hopefully I never have to actually use this feature and haven’t yet, but having easier access would be wonderful.I’m really impressed with the video quality and motion tracking. Although if you’re looking for a PTZ (Pan/tilt/zoom) camera; 2 outta 3 ain’t bad, no zoom here. Although, you can digitally zoom while in the live view or if watching a recorded event. The biggest selling point for me was there are no monthly or annual additional costs to this camera. Though the 8Gb internal storage seems low, honestly I don’t really see an issue. Think about it; an event occurs and is recorded. You download the event which you can either save it to show it to or email it to your local authorities. Why does it need to remain in a ‘cloud service’ for all time? After the 8Gb is used it will automatically start re-writing over the oldest recordings.I compared Ring, Arlo, eufy, and too many others to list here now. I have been so pleased with this choice I recommended it to the mother-in-law and several friends, all whom have since purchased one too.

No subscription fees and excellent motion and sound detection. Picks up sound well. Tracks well especially in the large back yard area.Works well with the app for your mobile phone. Also works perfectly at night. We had to adjust the brightness of the lights as they were too bright and had neighbourhood dogs barking.More than pleased with this unit and how well it functions.

This product is great, was just too large for where I wanted to put it at the front door. Also after folding it to the wall mount position it dropped 4″ which made it too low.

Sure it’s a security camera, but realistically we’ve never had intruder problems. The two most practical parts of the camera are the motion sensor light and being able to live stream the video on my computer monitor. With the ability to change the light colour from white to warm and the intensity from very bright to barely on we can set the night light exactly how we want it. We live on half an acre surrounded by neighbours on each side and front and woods on the back. Mostly we want the light to illuminate our front deck area and driveway so we’re not tripping up walking from the car to the house at night. Being able set it to blend in with our solar decorating lights, or make it very bright when we’re doing work infront of the garage is for us it’s most useful feature. Second is I work from home in an office that doesn’t point to the front of the house. I can stream the video of our long driveway and front yard on a side monitor. When I let the dog out I can make sure she doesn’t wander off, and I can see when deliveries visitors arrive. The software is clever and the instructions are good. The video is pretty clear. 4K would be better but then I’d likely have streaming issues with bandwidth. The only improvement is if it came in different colours so we could pick one to blend in with our house, which is not white. Highly recommend

As a floodlight, the Eufy Floodlight Cam Pro is ridiculously bright, to the point where you cannot use it on a residential street without being a nuisance to your neighbors. Fortunately, both color and brightness are fully adjustable. With mine set at 25% brightness and fully warm color, people can walk by my house without being annoyingly blinded. The best thing about Eufy is that storage is onboard and not reliant on the cloud. But onboard storage is limited to 8GB and it’s not expandable. It also doesn’t pair with the HomeBase 2 I already have from my doorbell. It looks like that’s enough for a few weeks or even months for my usage on a quiet residential street, but I could see it being limiting if you’re in a high traffic area. The onboard human detection AI works pretty well for the most part. It does seem to have more trouble detecting cars. The first few days the light wouldn’t turn on and there were no recordings at all of cars pulling into my driveway. It worked better after I turned off the automatic sensitivity adjustment and put it at a fixed value. As for the automatic tracking, it mostly works, but the pan/tilt moves in large increments, so instead of a smooth tracking of the subject, you have it jerk in large movements to kind of keep the subject in view. As the field of view is very wide and it is mounted high being a floodlight, it doesn’t really have to move much for the most part anyway. Actually, it could benefit from a zoom function as people are quite small in view and faces are hard to identify.Overall, I’m satisfied with the Eufy floodlight camera pro, but it is very expensive compared to fixed options like the Wyze floodlight camera (which I also have, in my backyard). At a sale price I find it barely acceptable in value/performance, I would not recommend it at full price when a fixed floodlight camera (like Eufy’s non-pro option), would suffice in most use cases.
