Works well. Reasonably sturdy. Plenty of depth options. I used it with a firm, thick cookie dough. Took quite a bit of effort. The roller worked like a charm. No issues with gauges unscrewing. Surprisingly easy to clean!The silicone mat is very thin (not an issue for me), but a good size.Excellent value for the price.

I have become obsessed with making home made pasta lately- it’s so easy and far too much fun making piles of flour and dropping eggs in the middle, love it! Had problems getting dough same thickness so easy to get into press but not good at it- this adjustable rolling pin solved that instantly- so easy to use and clean… exactly what I hoped it would do!My son mentioned that I could use this when making my dozens of sugar cookies at holidays as well, didn’t think of that! Why did I not buy this sooner!
I’ve also used a regular rolling pin and eyeballed the thickness. This rolling pin is awesome and I wish I had bought it sooner for use in making sugar cookies. Not more guess works. The rolled dough is the same thickness everywhere making for perfect cutout cookies! I used a recipe that is good for stamped shortbread cookies and rolled 1/4″ and they came out great! Not too thick or thin! I like that the thickness rings get screwed onto the ends so they won’t get misplaced. The pastry mat that comes with the rolling pin is nice and large. It ensured that the cookie dough didn’t stick to the counter and made clean up easy. I recommend this!

I love this so much! It helped me take my cookie game to the next level! Also the mat that came with it is really useful. I like to put the mat down and then a layer of parchment and sandwich my dough between another layer of parchment to roll it out. When I do it on the countertop it slides around, but not when I lay the mat down. Itâs got a good stick factor. The rolling pin has several thickness options too, making it the perfect rolling pin for any thickness of dough. I also like that itâs not wood. My wooden rolling pins are hard to clean, they deteriorate over time and you canât get an even thickness like you can with this rolling pin. I just love it! So smart!

Must have for roll cookies or anything that needs specific thickness
I made some cookies this weekend that had to be rolled to a specific thickness (1/8″, in this case). This rolling pin was invaluable. And the mat! Cookies were super easy to peel off, so I didn’t have to dust the mat. I’m *very, very* impressed with this and have recommended it to my whole family.My two very minor quibbles are that the pins/screws which are unscrewed to adjust the height of the pin are hollow with a pretty large hole in it. This is probably not a big deal if you know about it, but I hadn’t noticed before I submerged them in water, and that could potentially become an issue later. I don’t think it’s that big of a deal, just be aware of it..The other is that I was working with pretty cold dough, so I was pressing fairly hard on the pin, and there was a small difference in thickness of the dough where I pressed on the center of the pin. I mean, maybe 1/32″ or 1/16″, but when the dough is only 1/8″, that’s a quarter or even half of the height of the height of the entire dough. Easy to avoid now that I know about it.Having said that…even though the recipe calls for 1/8″….it’s probably better to go for 1/16″ for that specific recipe. 🙂

Great replacement
We had an ancient old wooden rolling pin that the handle on one side kept falling off. We’d been getting into pie crust making lately and having trouble getting a consistent thickness. This kit does the job, and the rolling mat that comes with it is perfect. The mat doesn’t move at all, sticks to the counter like glue till you peel it up. The rolling pin is easy to change the ends on, and clean up is easy. We had no issues with the dough sticking to the roller. With the different sizes and sturdiness of the set we’ll be using this for years. Two thumbs up on this purchase.
