Still a great buy…. even after flying it for a total of 67 flights
I received the HS 700 drone several days after ordering it. It arrived extremely well packaged, with no signs of physical injury and with no missing or broken parts. The quad-copter/drone flew well right out of the box. I found the transmitter box to be very well made, the controls were easy to use and the drone was very responsive to the controls. The drone itself is very sturdily built. The drone performed well in winds up to 10-12 mph. The GPS stabilization (as long as at least 7 satellites are available) worked very well. I have flown the HS 700 for a total of sixty-seven 67) flights since December 27, 2018. Each flight lasted 16 to 18 minutes depending on the wind conditions. So far I have manually returned and landed the drone without any crashes or loss of control. On 12 of these 67 flights I have used the automatic return to home and it has returned and landed perfectly on my 18 inch landing pad with just a touch of return to home button and the automatic landing buttons. This Quad Drone has many features which are only available on drones which cost twice what this one cost. My favorite programs are found on the Ophelia app (which you download onto your iPhone from the App Store). After downloading the Ophelia App you place your iPhone (I use an iPhone 8S housed in an Otter Box Commuter case) into a phone holder mounted to the top of the controller box and go through the setup steps described in the instruction booklet which comes with the drone. Then you can program a “geo-fence” to limit the drone so that it can go no higher and no further than the number of meters that you program it to within the app. There are at least 4 other automated functions available directly on the transmitter (like automated take off and landing and automatic return to home if the drone battery is running low). I strongly recommend reading the operation manual very carefully line by line at least 3 times before ever flying this drone. Also, take the manual with you when you are in the field flying it. Refer to the manual frequently and again each day that you take out the drone to fly it. I also recommend viewing the following You Tube Video by “RC Escape” which is entitled, “Holy Stone HS700 FPV Drone 1080p HD 5G WiFi Camera GPS RC Quadcopter” several times before you fly the HS 700. There is a Holy Stone help desk available by phone which is listed in the box with the drone if you have special questions. I have called this number one time. The support desk answered promptly, was very courteous, easy to understand and gave me good information. The are also several other good tutorials on line through You Tube. I will add that you will no doubt want to fly longer than the 16 to 18 minutes of flight time each battery charge gives you and therefore you will at some time need to consider buying at least one to 3 additional backup batter (Current price is about $50 per battery). The camera is mounted to an adjustable holder on the front underside of the drone. It has shock absorbing fittings and can be manually adjusted vertically up and down (not side to side). The camera does not fit into a gimbal (a feature which is usually only found on drones costing over $500) and therefore the direction of the camera cannot be controlled from the controller. The quality of the photos and the videos is good, but not outstanding. The manual says that the camera suspension can hold a GoPro Hero video camera. Videos are stored within the camera on an 8 GB micro SD card. If you want to store the photos and videos directly into your iPhone you will need to remove the micro-SD card from the camera. With the micro-SD card removed from the camera the photos and the videos will be transmitted back to your iPhone (which is mounted on the top of the controller) via Wi-Fi. In summary, I am very pleased with this HS 700. Like any drone the HS 700 requires adult assistance for anyone under the age of 12.

Great Drone!!
This is the second drone I’ve owned. My first was a very basic model drone, and I could never get the camera to work right. I saw the Holy Stone HS720R, and thought….why not?! =)First off, I’ve been delayed in flying the drone, and writing a review. I had to reach out to Holy Stone about getting the RemoteID for the drone. Their response was very quick, and they didn’t even charge me for the RemoteID. Needless to say, I was tickled pink. Anyway, once I got the drone, I went online and got my TRUST certificate, then I had to register with the FAA. All of this took a while, but I finally got it finished, and got to take the drone out today.Stupid me…I thought I had a memory card that would work. I searched, and couldn’t find one that had a lot of memory, so I didn’t save any of the photos or video. But, I was able to see through the camera while I flew the drone. I have ordered a new memory card, and hope to fly the drone again, getting pictures/video next weekend, or over the Thanksgiving holiday. I’ll update this review with new pictures. The drone is really easy to fly. I really liked that. The auto takeoff and landing is a nice feature. I don’t really need it, but it does make thinks a lot simpler. The remote has really good signal strength, and I flew the drone for about 40 minutes…MUCH longer than my old drone that could only do 15 minutes on one charge. =)The drone was very responsive, and I had a really good time flying it. I do miss the old days, though, when you could fly higher than 400 feet. Oh well. I also have to be careful and keep my ears open because I live near a military base, and a small airport. While I am in between the two restricted airspaces, there is the occasional Cessna or other small craft that can come by. The F16 fly pretty low too, but I’m sure they are way over 400 feet. =)I am really looking forward to using this drone more. I can’t wait to take it out to the AZ desert, and watch the folks in their side-by-sides or Razrs zipping through the desert. I’ll update the review when I get a little more air time, and get my larger memory stick in.I definitely recommend this drone, though. From what I’ve experienced so far, it is a really nice unit.****Update****Received the memory card and was able to get pictures. Great quality, and easy to take with the buttons right on the controller. These shots are of the Blythe Intaglios, outside of Blythe, AZ.

Seems to work pretty good.
I had a heck of a time to get the drone and transmitter to pair. I did everything g the book and the you tube tutorial said. Got holystone on the phone. Still could not get it to pair. I was about to send it back and I noticed what I thought was a gasket on the battery (in case of a watery crash) was covering the contacts on the battery. I removed that rubber foam thing and it all worked flawlessly. Maybe I missed something but the instructions should tell a person to be sure to remove that gasket tho g from the battery. This drone flies well and the camera is very fine. After a few months of having this drone I say it works pretty well. It does not like to crash. Customer service is pretty decent. They are sending me a rear arm because the motor got unbalanced and heats up.

Would absolutely buy again
I purchased this a year ago as my first drone and if Iâm honest, I didnât need to upgrade to a DJI. This drone is wonderful and is incredibly easy to fly and learn on. The upgraded battery was worth it, in my opinion. That is the only upgrade I have though, and I think I would buy an extra two batteries because itâs a ton of fun to fly and it takes great videos, so I could spend hours out flying. The Holy Stone app is user friendly and it interfaces well with both Apple and Android. As someone who grew up with developing technology, itâs killed me to wait so long to get into drones, and this is the perfect drone to get for someone not ready to put DJI level funds towards it. It is a solid flying drone I would buy again.
