so warm, a winter game changer
I am a tall slim lady and I get really cold in the winter. I have been slowly collecting wool garments over the last few years and this has been a great addition to the collection. It’s hard to find a wool undershirt this thick. It is so warm! I wear a medium in women’s clothing and I got the men’s small. Great long sleeves, enough for my long long arms. The neck opening is a bit tight, I will say (It would be so nice if I could find thick underlayers with a larger scoop neck or vneck!) I have 2 of these and use them constantly through the winters (wool does not smell as easily, so I launder every 5-7 wears) One of them ended up in the dryer, and thankfully it did not shrink or get ruined, though the texture changed slightly and it is not as soft as it was before- still very wearable and in good shape though! I ended up gifting a couple people in my family one of these for christmas and everyone loves them.I used to be so cold, wearing the box store long johns made of cotton or poly. They never did much, and I ended up with icy limbs, sweaty pits and still shivering through the winters. Now with wool, I am more evenly regulated, the cold is more tolerable, and going into the warmer indoors is not a sauna. As someone with some autonomic body regulation issues, it has helped tremendously (so has my USB battery pack heated vest, but thats another story)

  2. Research is my thing

    brilliant
This guys have really learned how to put together some super high-quality Marino wool garments. I personally love the 400 gram Men’s bass layer shirts – fabulous. I have a black one that is very flattering from a close design perspective, and another 400 g base layer it’s just as good but because of the color it makes me look like a very rich (warm) and very rIch guy. but I only wear them because they feel great and are as warm as hell.

Wearing it as I write this review. Medium to heavy weight, soft, NOT picky or sticky.
VERY nice feel. Warm and snuggly. Soft and not sticky or itchy. sure it costs a bit more than some, but VERY well made and fits just right. Not tight or loose. I am 6’1″ and 215 lbs. I gott he xlarge and it is perfect. It says “heavyweight, but I find this to be more medium-heavy. Definatly more than light, but not super heavy either.

    Great thermal
Expensive, but worth it. High quality, comfortable and warm. Below 0 fahrenheit is not unusual for winters where I live and this product is just fantastic.

    Nice and Warm
This IS NOT a light weight top. It is nice and warm and is fairly long. I have purchased other brands that were too short.

    Beautiful and looks durable
It’s wool, heavy and comfortable to wear. I can’t say much about how warm it is because I just bought it. The size fits perfectly. I am 170cm tall and weigh 74kg, bought medium and it fits perfectly. Not tight and not loose. Long enough and I will use it as a base layer (on the skin). Overall, I am happy with the product.

The most comfortable and warmest thermals you will probably ever wear.
I purchased the midweight 200gram thermal top and bottom months ago. They were so great overall compared to my other brands that I had to go back and purchase the heavyweight versions. I have them on right now. The current weather is 40°F with a 20 MPH wind making the wind chill a cool 31°. I feel perfectly fine standing and working in it. They are a little pricey compared to others but I have to work in these for long hours so, comfort and warmth are what’s most important.

    Outdoor use, Quality
I have 2 sets of 400g and the 150g each.(2 grey, 2 green) I work outdoors, so wool retaining heat when wet is a plus. They layer well. I follow the care instructions to the T. All are holding up well after 6 months of constant use. Stiching still looks new and no stretch or fading. Is it the best value for the money? I dont know but I will buy 2 more sets. I am very happy with the product though it is made in China with Australia wool.

Good value, you’ll struggle to find merino at a similar price point, just wish the weight was a little heavier

I would definitely buy these again. Warm on cold mornings, but not too hot when it warms up in the afternoon.

A bit expensive but if it keeps me warm it’s well worth it! Much heavier then the 260g Merino Wool long johns I bought earlier this year and just as thick as another brand of 400g I also bought at the same time as this order. Stitching seems good and the fit is good too. Shipping could have been a bit faster. I ordered here (Amazon) and from another maker (Non-Amazon) on the same day. I received my other top (sent from the US) and liked it so much I ordered a pair of socks, a neck warmer and a pair of pants and they arrived before this Meriwool order from Amazon did.

This is my some what of a long term review.I had mine for few winters season and I do have a mixed feeling about this 400G top layer.I personally never found this to be as warm as it should have been when comparing to my 200~250G polyester base layers.I think that stood out to me back when I purchased this was how dense it felt, I feel that it has too tight of a wooven and not having enough air gaps for warmth. Now, recently I purchased a Smartwool 250G top base layer on sale as I always found it to be just expensive enough to avoided it. Well I’ll be damned… in my day to day real world situations I really found this to be noticeably warm than Meriwool. I am talking from experience from both static & active mode.I really do think that just making it a thick, dense, heavy weight isn’t the best design to keep you warm.
