Great educational toy for 2s
I have used this toy working with children with disabilities in their homes. Kids love it!. You can teach colors, work on fine motor skills with the keys, and a lot of vocabulary. I like to give it to children as a gift too.

Grandson’s Favorite. Great Value , Sturdy, Well Packaged
2 1/2 year old obsessed with this-vehicle type, working garage doors and keys to lock and unlock. Keys take dexterity to fit into lock, each key has different shape and color and thought I would always have to help but after three days of practise he could manipulate keys and unlock. Great for developing fine motor skills, color recognition, matching and shapes. Even learned 3 letters as key configurations similar to different letters! Company must have repackaged product based on poor reviews as well packed asnd in perfect condition.

2.5 year old boy in serious love
A lot of people are complaining that the keys are just willy nilly in there. Mine came with a key chain. It was plastic but could hold all keys and clip to the top handle. It was too flimsy though and kids broke it so replaced with a metal carrabeaner (sp?) you know those clips meant for hiking? Oh he loved that and I did too. I still give it 5 stars. I donât buy my kids toys very often and so he was really aching for a toy and this fit the bill. He was able to figure out the lock mechanism with very little help. I had to reinforce a few times which way was lock and which way was open and how to pull key out. This only took about 10 min. After that he was off. It is particle board but seems sturdy to me. Heâs sat on it a few times. No problems. Thrown it once. Did ok. I think the cars are solid wood. The door was a little stiff but loosens with use. No problem for him either. I love it no regrets Melissa and Doug always deliver.

Hands on toy for toddlers
I like this toy because itâs fun for play and or acting fine motor skills. Itâs fun for my child to open and close to doors and push the cars in and out.The toy itself is a sturdy unit.I have had no problems with anything breaking. It was a little harder for my kid to learn to open and close the doors but he likes the toy itself.

Its almost perfect
This is the toy for a 2 year old! I used it to teach him the roles of first responders, dexterity (locks and keys) colors and organization. The keys are color coded and only unlock the same color garage. I watched him learn how to fit the individually shaped keys into each lock and was so proud of his success. He looked at the t-shape ended key and figured the shape had to match the t-shaped hole and his face lit up. Of course then he thought I needed to understand it and showed me how to do it. He had been working another toy that matched shapes in holes (highly recommended) and that made this learning process easier. It is VERY sturdy and withstands him standing on it and probably my weight as well. The trucks are carved wood blocks. The weakest points being the axel and wheels but they are VERY sturdy. He’s almost 3 in a few months and he plays with it a lot still after almost a year of use. He likes all his hot wheels, sand box cars and trucks, but when it comes to role playing and locking with use of keys, this toy is the so great. Highly recommend! I don’t know if there is a perfect developmental toy but this one should be in every 2 year old’s toy box.

very bad quality for the price you get. its made up of porous wood or more like a hard card board .. not a wood. When it arrived we didnt even unpack it it was already folded from the corners. the quality of key and the locks is also more like cheap plastic. Concept is good but very cheap quality product. Not worth the money I paid!

I originally got this toy for our car distraction bin for long drives. It did a great job of that! Little one played with it for almost 45 minutes straight on his lap. Now, it lives inside the house and is the go-to toy. My 20 month old plays with this toy more than anything else at the moment and has been for about a month now. Most of the wheels have stopped turning but that doesnât stop him.
