ALLOWED OUR BREASTFEEDING JOURNEY TO CONTINUE!
I have used the Medela Contact Nipple Shields at different stages of my breastfeeding journey, and they have been a true lifesaver. Yesterday, I bought it for them for a third time (I tend to lose them but I will buy them over and over again, I donât care lol). My baby boy just turned 8 months. Weâve had a great breastfeeding journey, but I had to stop breastfeeding temporarily while on medication. We started back up with nursing a week ago and baby boy wasnât having it. He was experiencing extreme nipple confusion, and I was running out of ideas to help him latch again. I really thought our breastfeeding journey was coming to an end. I received the shields today and wasnât successful with getting my son to latch the first try. I was so discouraged because the shields were sort of my last option. Trying to nurse a baby who so badly wants to but canât because of nipple confusion is so sad. For his second nap of the day I started off by hand expressing some milk into the shield and let baby boy suck on it a few times. It took a few tries and baby boy was super frustrated at first but he finally latched onto the shield. THEN I was able to remove the shield about 5 minutes later and baby boy latched onto me perfectly! These shields have truly made a significant difference in our breastfeeding experience, providing comfort and support when we needed it most.I highly recommend the Medela Contact Nipple Shields to any breastfeeding mother facing latching challenges. They are a fantastic tool for ensuring a successful and fulfilling breastfeeding journey.

Game changer!!
This was a game changer for me!I had switched to only pumping because my baby made it too painful to feed directly. We started formula feeding and I felt terrible. Our friendâs baby is 7 weeks ahead of ours and they recommended these shields.I was worried our baby wouldnât take to them because she has been bottle fed for a few days.I was shocked when she took these right away without any issues. I had no pain!! My husband and I are forever grateful for these shields.I only wish I had encountered them sooner-like why did the lactation specialist in the hospital not recommend them. Iâd have had a much better start.Anywho-these are fabulous and even come with a convenient carrying case.I couldnât recommend them more!

Lifesaver!
I really didn’t think I needed a bigger size but boy was I wrong. Durable. Cleans up well. Baby loves it. Saving my nipples daily. Moms NEED to use this shield.

Wonât stay on.
I like that these are thin and the material is nice but they wonât stay on during feeding. They scrunch up and slide around and are overall unusable.

Works great
Have used these for my summer baby and has worked great. It is thin and light enough to were I donât notice a difference when it is on but still does its job of protecting my nipples and offering a better latch for my baby. Thankful for these!

Saved me postpartum multiple times!
These are really a lifesaver in early postpartum if you need them. With both my babies I needed them during the first 8ish weeks until they got a little bit bigger and had figured out breastfeeding a little more. It is so helpful too in the early days when breastfeeding is often painful as your body is getting used to it. It gives you a little bit of a barrier, which eases the discomfort. Something I learned this time though is that the shield size doesn’t necessarily match up with what shield size you would use for a breast pump. Size up with a these shields, that makes them more comfortable for you to use.

Comparison review with MAM, Lansinoh, and purifyou
Weâve used four different brands of nipple shield in our breastfeeding journey. My son has a poor latch and spent the first 8 weeks of his life in the NICU, so we mostly bottlefeed but I wanted to have that bonding time of breastfeeding at least a couple times a day.In case there are others like me that are sitting through the options and trying to figure out what to use, I thought Iâd leave this comparison review on all four listings. I hope it helps! So in order from best to worst nipple shields that we used:1- MAM (5 stars) We use MAM bottles, and this is really an easy transition for the kiddo. It stays on remarkably well, which is very important when the baby likes to grab it! Only downside is the sizes available â 17mm and 23mm. Iâm a solid size 20. We use the 17 and it works fine, just a bit snug for me and a bit more difficult to put on. But the most important thing to me is that my son latches easily and it stays put, so this is the clear winner for me!2- Lansinoh (4 stars). The Lansinoh nipple shields are actually quite different from the other three we tried. Theyâre thicker for one, which does not feel great on the breast. I do love that they have a shallower nipple, so my nipple fills it almost entirely. My son latches very well to it, but because of the thicker base, itâs easier for him to pull off than the MAM shields (but does not fall off on its own like the Medela below). Still a great nipple shield that we continue to use!3- Medela (3 stars) This was the first shield that we tried together, in the NICU at the recommendation of one of the nurses. It works fine for us. I do like the thinness of this nipple shield; it feels the most natural of the four shields that we used. Thereâs really only one reason itâs not our favorite: the nipple sticks really far out so my nipple only fills it less than halfway when weâre taking a breather. That means itâs very easy for my son to pull off, and sometimes it even just falls off. Having to reattach it is frustrating for both of us!4- Purifyou (1 star) We bought this nipple shield at the same time as we got the MAM and Lansinoh ones so that we could try a few different brands. We couldnât get it to stay put at all! Even though itâs supposedly the same size as the Medela and Lansinoh ones that we use successfully, it is way too big for my nipple and falls off constantly. My son had a harder time latching using this shield than he does without a shield.

Works like magic
Saved breastfeeding for us. One breast has a flat nipple, but using this, baby was able to latch easily and immediately. Super slim design minimizes interference so the bonding/skin to skin aspect isn’t lost. Stays on surprisingly well when you follow directions. I suggest trying it out the first few times when baby is a little hungry but not fussy so you can both be calm while trying something new.

I bought these due to a heavily damaged and bleeding nipple from breastfeeding. I had been pumping but my baby refused to take a bottle so I was only able to feed from one breast. I am so happy with these nipple shields. I have not tried any other brands, and yes sometimes they donât stick perfectly when baby move around but if I hold the two sides just to get baby started they work just fine. Also, baby does take on more air than directly breastfeeding because every time she unlatches the tip fills with air again that she sucks in when she starts to suck. However, it saves me from pumping a bunch of milk that I will have to throw in the freezer. Hopefully use can be temporary and can go back to regular feeding without them soon.

Really helped while I had sore and cracked nipples. I was able to breastfeed only because of this. One of the necessary products for new mothers
