RDS copper braided cables
Copper braided cables ensure perfect flexibility and long lifetime plus very good electric parameters. In the case of RDS products, braids have a circular cross-section (from 0.25 mm2 to 35 mm2, i.e. a diameter of 9 mm), and are made of pure copper fibres. They are used, for example, to produce electric motor brushes and residual current devices. Due to their flexibility, they are also suitable for making movable connections in electric and power engineering equipment and installing protective earthing circuits. Currently, the TME catalogue offers only bare copper versions of these cables.
POWER 1000-YFR
The POWER 1000-YFR series cables are divided into a few subgroups, but in general they should be treated as power supply and control cabling for indoor and outdoor applications. Their PVC sheaths are resistant to UV radiation, weather conditions (e.g. precipitation) and most oils. They can be routed in conduits, cable ducts, but also directly under the ground. Their rated voltage is 600 V/1 kV. Helukabel manufactures them in unshielded and shielded versions using aluminium foil. Importantly, the cables may come with 1 to 25 conductors (in the form of stranded wires twisted in pairs) with a cross-section from 0.75 mm2 to 300 mm2, which facilitates handling considerable current values. Resistance to vertical fire spread is their additional advantage.
N2XH and NHXMH series
The behaviour of those cables in the presence of flames is their key advantage, as they ensure low smoke emissions and resistance to fire spread (self-extinguishing properties), contain no halogens, and do not emit any corrosive or toxic gases during combustion. Designed for power lines, thanks to their specifications, these cables are perfect for power supply systems and power grid installations in hotels, airports, metro stations, hospitals, banks, schools, cinemas, theatres, or even industrial systems.
The N2XH and NHXMH cables are designed to be routed in both dry and humid locations, both indoors and outdoors. The outer sheath houses from 1 to 30 stranded conductors (cross-sections up to 35 mm2). Depending on the cable variant, the rated voltage ranges from 300 V to 1 kV. Additionally, selected NHXMH cable versions are resistant to ozone.
NYM-J electric power cables
The NYM-J series includes typical electric power cables. They come with 1, 2, 3 or 5 colour-coded conductors (including a yellow-green protective line, PE) in a form of a stranded or solid wire. Due to their intended use, they are suitable for surface- and flush-mounting, as well as for installation in brick and concrete wall fissures (however, they will get damaged when concrete is poured over them and vibrated). They show resistance to direct sunlight, which allows them to be installed outdoors. The conductor cross-section ranges from 1.5 mm2 to 35 mm2, which is consistent with the standards applied in most mains systems in residential, office, industrial and other buildings.
Power supply for industrial equipment
The cables from the NYCY series are suitable for power supply systems in industrial buildings and installations. They can also be used in measuring and control systems. They come with coaxially arranged, stranded conductors with cross-sections from 1.5 to 16 mm2, secured with an internal protective sheath, shield made of a copper tape and external PVC insulation. A single cable of this type may come with up to 52 conductors. They can be successfully used in dry and moist installation conditions or even laid under the ground, as their mechanical strength rating is really high. The copper shield will perform its intended function while also serving as a protective circuit connection. These cables are designed both for alternating (single- and 3-phase) and direct current systems.
Sheathed cables
Sheathed cables demonstrate increased mechanical strength. In the case of the H03VV-F, H05VV-F and H07V-K series, these are solutions designed for medium-voltage applications, mains supply systems and mains-powered appliance cabling, e.g. for white goods (dishwashers, washing machines, cookers, etc.). They withstand nominal voltages up to 500 V AC, and thanks to their specifications, they are suitable even for demanding applications, e.g. in agricultural or industrial machinery.
The thick PVC outer sheath is an important feature, as it means that the cables have self-extinguishing and flame-resistant properties. Moreover, this material can be coated with varnish. As regards their design, the H05VV series products are typical power supply cables with 2 to 5 stranded conductors made of bare copper, whose cross-sections range from 0.5 mm2 to 4 mm2. Individual lines are colour-coded in line with international electric installation standards. The external sheath can be white, grey or black.
