A USB camera with RGB-IR image solutions developed by e-con Systems with enhanced embedded vision for developers, researchers, and industry professionals.
The new camera features onsemi’s AR0830 sensor, allowing it to capture high-quality 4K images in both visible (red, green, blue- RGB) and infrared (IR) light. This capability sets a new benchmark for applications such as biometric access control, in-cabin monitoring, crop health monitoring, image-guided surgeries, and smart patient monitoring. The camera’s ability to simultaneously stream RGB-IR frames ensures that users receive clear, detailed imagery regardless of lighting conditions.
Utilizing a proprietary RGB-IR separation algorithm, the camera processes RGB and IR frames from a single sensor, eliminating the need for multiple sensors. This results in lower latency and a more cost-effective solution. Notably, the camera operates without mechanical switch filters, increasing its reliability. With over 20 years of experience in embedded vision, e-con Systems has fine-tuned its image signal processing (ISP) to guarantee superior image quality.
Steve Harris, senior director, marketing, onsemi, emphasized the camera’s versatility saying, “By integrating our AR0830 sensor into their 4K RGB-IR superspeed USB camera, See3CAM_CU83, and combining it with their RGB-IR separation algorithm, e-con Systems delivers a composite camera system that can be extensively deployed in both visible and NIR spectrums.”
Prabu Kumar, head, camera solutions unit, e-con Systems, remarked on the camera’s significance, stating, “This camera uses e-con’s own proprietary algorithm that processes RGB-IR frames from the single sensor into separate RGB and IR frames.”
The camera addresses critical challenges across various industries including an ideal audience range of users such as system integrators, healthcare providers, agricultural specialists, and security professionals, and those seeking advanced imaging solutions.
With its advanced features, the camera is set to transform the embedded vision solutions.
