The last great MP3 player
With a phone in everyone’s pocket that is a high end MP3 player, it’s hard to find a stand alone one anymore. There are tons out there, but THE VAST MAJORITY of the cheap ones are complete and total junk with impossible to use interfaces and overall low quality. This SanDisk one is a high quality productI get them for my kids because I don’t give them phones. These are easy to operate for even a small child. And since it’s super lightweight it can be dropped repeatedly without breaking like a smartphone would. The battery life is great. The UI is simple. The sound quality is fantastic. Its’ great for kids and would be great for adults who want an MP3 player for exercising without worrying about it being broken because 1) it’s durable and 2) it’s cheap enough that it’s replaceable if if does break…unlike a phone

DOOMED to FAIL
Delighted with the size, color, and the aux out hole for my WIRED lightweight headphones, I acquired a number of these happy SanDisk Sansaclip clips, in cheery orange and in green (I’m Irish). Unfortunately, problems: 1. in very wet weather — I like to jog in heavy rain sometimes — they will short out and die; 2. they cannot be shipped to Illinois because of their lithium batteries (although other clips can, the law makes no sense!), so, living in Chicago, that’s a problem; 3. without warning the clip will stop communicating with my computer — I have twelve music collections, one for each month so each month I need to load up my less-than-8-GB collection onto the player (while all my other devices still able to transfer files to and from computer, so I think it’s the clip); and finally, 4. without warning the clip will refuse to accept charge, you just plug it into the charger as usual but the clip no longer charges (while all my other devices still able to charge so I think it’s the clip). It’s too bad, because I’ve gotten used to Sansaclip, but fortunately there are similar clips, that come in orange and blue (not green), I’m going to have to migrate as I slowly go through my supply of DOOMED to FAIL Sansaclips.

Great mp3 player for low tech music
I bought one of these for each of my kids (6, 8) so that they could listen to music without needing to use my phone or making me turn it on for the whole house to hear. We put songs, audio books, and some podcasts on for them, and now, we take the mp3 players with us anywhere they will have to wait (car rides, dr appts, music lessons, etc.). They even listen to them at bedtime while they read to calm down for the night. The devices are easy enough for children to navigate, hold a change for a long time, and so far, seem to be pretty sturdy despite being constantly dropped and swung around by the headphone cords. My only complaint is that it’s hard to customize the title of the songs or audiobook chapters, so at times it is hard to tell which file is which (but even then we have figured out worlable solutions).

Less than 2 months use and MALFUNCTIONS
The fast forward and reverse buttons no longer function properly. Instead of advancing or retracting through the minutes of my podcasts or music files, the buttons open up different folders. The SanDisk is nearly useless at this point. I have several hour long podcasts saved on the SanDisk, and if I want to listen to something, say at the 30:00 minutes midpoint, I can not jump to that starting point. I can only start at the 00:00 minute mark.I like everything else about these tiny devices, but what good is it if it fails in less than 60 days??

Love these little players!
I bought this one to replace one that got lost. I use my player all the time…while biking, working around the house, going to sleep. The only negative is that it is kind of hard to create playlists. I’ve not found a way to make a playlist on the computer and transfer it to the player so you have to create the playlist on the player. Other than that it’s extremely durable (I can’t say how often I’ve dropped it on cement and our hardwood floors) and it just keeps on working. I use it a lot for audio books. If you use “Audible” books it always will resume where you left off. With other audio books (and music) it will return where you left off IF you stop the playback before shutting off the player. If you go to music then try to get back to your non-Audible book, you have to remember which part and minute count you left off. Now that I’m used to it, it isn’t a problem at all. The clip is handy and it has terrific battery life. When the battery gets low it re-charges quickly. I do use two of these players loaded with the same content so I can just switch to the other player if I let the battery run out. When I lost one of my players on the bike path I had to replace it right away. It’s a great little player at a moderate price.

2,000-song Limit, Buyer Beware
I bought this to replace my Sansa Fuze which recently died and was fairly feature-rich for its size. I use MicroSD cards for my music and just wanted something I could pop an existing card right into.Well, the architecture of this device won’t support more than 2,000 songs (for filing purposes) internally or on a card. I could put ALL of the songs in a single folder, but that would hugely diminish the ability to organize/manage the library.I guess I’ll have to figure out a workaround, as I only wanted this for travel and skiing.

This is a replacement for a Sansa Clip that I bought many years ago after the battery finally gave up. This new one has a slightly different menu structure but otherwise is much the same. It’s tiny, the battery lasts for about 18 hours, and the sound is really good, though I use it mainly for talking books. This new version will even play Audible books which is useful. The sleep timer is great (takes a bit of finding in the menu) and the built-in FM radio is better than my first one. It’s a pity the charger is Micro-USB and not USB-C but it’s not a deal breaker as the cable is included. The only other possible negative is the menu structure which takes a bit of getting used to but it’s fairly easy once you’ve got the hang of it. All in all, I’d definitely recommend it!

This little gem is just what I was looking for. It is cheap, very compact and sturdily made.If you don’t like having to manually transfer files on your PC then it may not be for you. Otherwise it really does an excellent job. Files can be copied and moved from your iTunes folder in your File Explorer and dropped into this mp3 player easily and it can hold so many more files than my old nano iPod.Great value.

Simply put, a very small, compact, pleasant item which does all I want it to. When connected to laptop, all couldn’t be easier.CAUTION: To receive normal volume settings (and not incredibly quiet ones), you must select a non-Eu country as an option (the first step the gadget prompts you to make).
