A Bargain Hard to Beat; Amazing on a Budget
I had and used an Umidigi device (the Umidigi Power) for some time back in 2020, and I havealways admired their dedication to creating powerful devices on a budget. To begin, the box that this device came in was a beautiful, sleek black box with a fantastic printof the tablet on the front. The box has all of the specifications on the back, and plenty moreinformation. The unboxing experience was delightful, packed extremely well, neatly andsecurely. While unpacking the box, there was the instruction leaflet, the tablet, the charger andthe cable, all of which were the high quality I have come to know Umidigi by.Taking out the tablet, it was a very hefty and rugged device, as which it of course is sold as. Thecase was a tough plastic case with a place for the included passive stylus in the side. Thebuttons were nice and responsive, the case was durable and rugged and the tablet lookedamazing. On the tablet was a screen protector which was underneath the factory stock one, although only a plastic screen protector, it was still a nice inclusion.Turning the device on, it gives a very satisfying and strong vibration, along with the wonderfulstarting animation Umidigi designed into the firmware. The setup was quick and painless, takingabout 5 minutes total to complete. Using the device, immediately I could tell that the device wasa well tuned and built tablet, unlike some I have used in the past at the same price point. Theattention to detail on making a rugged, affordable tablet is a greatly appreciated thing amongmany. The screen protector left a bit to be desired as it felt a little bit too resistive to touch forme, however, removing it was not a problem and it merely peeled away without resistance. As I was getting into using the device, I noticed a few things. The screen looked great, thecolors were clear, the pixel density was nice and there was no artifacting as far as I could tell. The brightness of the tablet was also very good, managing to be bright enough to be seen welleven in direct light. The settings for the display do seem to be rather basic, appearing to be astock android array of settings, however, the extra dim mode was surely my favorite feature. One of the videos I use to test the clarity and vibrance of a screen is a 4K video of Costa Rica, and to say it passed would be an understatement. It performed well without stutter, vibrantcolors and a clear, smooth HDR experience.Looking into the settings of the device, you have the standard array of android settings tochoose from. One setting quite unique to this device is the ability to set the hotkey button. Thehotkey button is an added button on the tablet itself that allows you to set different apps orfeatures to it, granting easy access to 3 different choices by single press, double press or hold. The button is responsive, just like the others on the device, although the case does makepressing the buttons a bit more difficult. The specifications of the device are fairly standard for a budget device, however still offer anamazing amount of performance. Sporting an 8 core cpu with a 4G modem and an integratedgpu offers a great mix of performance and efficiency. A way that I test these specifications is by using two apps; Geekbench for running a benchmark of the cpu/gpu and Device Info HW tocheck through all of the device information, as well as run various tests on the device. The specifications were as promised, sporting the T616 processor and an 11â 2K screen, alongwith quad speakers and a 10000 mAh battery capacity. It has a 10-point touch capability, allowing use of all 10 fingers at once, of which I enjoy when using it to play piano. The speakertests I ran passed with flying colors as well, being a nice, vibrant sound that made use of thequad speakers for a nice stereo experience. The screen test also did well, showing a vibrantarray of the colors it ran through, without washing them out or lacking brightness.I primarily used this device for music and videos, having them running almost constantlythroughout this review. The battery lasted anywhere from 12-26 hours, depending on thebrightness, load and whether I was watching videos or listening to music. From empty to full, thetablet took about two and a half hours to charge, using the full 20W capability of the includedcharger and cable. In conclusion, the Umidigi Active T1 is an amazing tablet, full of great features, wonderful userfriendliness and a budget in mind. I do highly recommend this device for those that want therobust, rugged and long lasting experience offered. For the price, you would be hard pressed tofind an alternative.

Great kids tablet!
First of all, I’ve been obsessively researching tablets, Chromebooks, and laptops for over a year. My daughter is 8 and we’ve gone through several “kids” tablets over the years – Amazon fire, a TCL tablet from Verizon, another from T-Mobile. They all had terrible memory space and they were very slow. Plus, filled with bloatware. Even with an additional SD card, we could only download a few apps that worked. This tablet is fast, great memory space, beautiful bright images, much bigger screen, and looks like it has great battery life. Easy to setup an account (or multiple!). Apps download so much faster than previous tablets. Easy to setup parental controls. Very little bloatware. It even came with a case, screen protector and a stylus! And the price is right! The case does seem very durable.Cons: apparently doesn’t connect with Verizon sim cards – I haven’t tried yet. But, it doesn’t seem like any good tablets work on Verizon’s network. I’ve looked at them all. Certainly not at the price point I’m looking for. In any case, I’ll just use Wifi or a hotspot for now. Perhaps I’ll see if it works for Mint mobile as that runs on T-Mobile towers and is fairly cheap.

Incredible value budget tablet with 4G LTE
I have spent a week with this tablet to run it through its paces and see what works/doesn’t work well for it. As a tablet, it delivers what it promises. It has a bright display, rugged features, loud sound and long lasting battery. The OS loaded on this is the latest Android OS, and I hope it does get security updates going forward but it’s not a deal breaker as the price is right. The performance is decent (first time running a Unisoc T616) and I would say it’s comparable to the Samsung S6 Lite (performance wise I see the 616 may be a bit sluggish when needed) the Samsung tablet costs more than this one usually, and it doesn’t have a modem for 4G network connectivity, so it loses out.The screen is bright and vivid, no issues seeing and watching things in bright sunlight. The quad speakers on the Umidigi tablet are loud, sometimes I’m asked to turn it down. Media consumption while on the go is not an issue with this device. On service, I managed a good 6 hours of watching videos and it hasn’t drained the battery, which is what I would expect from a 10,000 mAh slab. I came out from 90% to around 35% and I still had plenty of time with it after before it was prompting to be plugged in.The CPU is not the strongest, there will be demanding games that would have issues playing but most casual games work with no issues (Minecraft and Roblox are fine)Other features available for this device are the face unlock (there’s no fingerprint scanner), additional hotkey button, customizable to your liking (I just left it as flashlight and camera) and the antenna-free FM radio, useful if you want to just listen to something without requiring internet capability.Despite its ruggedness, you do have to take care of it that it doesn’t get sand, you could damage the charge port (there’s no cover for it) so I will take care of that if I take this to the beach. I’m not worried though, since it’s a rugged device along with a harder protective case, that this will crack and break on any drops. I can give this to someone who’s not as careful with their devices and believe it will survive plenty of wear and tear. It’s a bit heavier than the Samsung tablet, since it carries a larger battery, but I’d rather have that present so it lasts much longer. There are screw holes on the back of the protective case, perhaps it could be used for a possible stand attachment that would make this unit even better.Overall, a decent tablet for the price, highlighted by a large battery, rugged features and 4G LTE connectivity, it’s a great travel companion and media consumption unit. Great job.

feel very sturdy and functions well
this tablet is not a gaming tablet , it will not be running the latest games at the highest setting or even medium settings , it is a media consuption device , even if you want to consume that media in the rain or while falling off a cliff , it will do that job very well and keep on going long after you have sucumbed to those injuries you got when you fell off that cliff.the screen is crisp and bright , the body is actual covered in a rubber case that can be removed , there is a sim tray for cellular data if you are in that kinda stuff.

Our UMIDIGI Ownership experience started with the A5 Pro, Power 3, F1, Bison X10 and F3S. All of which are currently in use except for the A5 Pro which was lost/stolen. All the devices had a premium look and feel, and excellent performance and superior bang for your buck. These positive experiences were the reason why I had the UMIDIGI tablets in my list of devices to research. So when I received an invitation to try the newly released Active T1 from UMIDIGI, I jumped at the opportunity .When I opened the box I was delighted to see that the Active T1 included the same bundles I always got with all my past UMIDIGI devices, a case, cable, charger block and screen protector (already applied), as well as a useful stylus. No hassles and no need to search and spend more for compatible cases and screen protectors, which seems to be the new norm when you buy devices these days. The Active T1 is a solid device, a bit hefty (probably due to the good size Battery), but that feels good in hand and gives assurance of a quality build. The Active T1 powered up in little time, as expected for a first start and battery was almost fully charged so I could go through the usual android set up without having to wait. Set up was done without any issues and account synced quite quickly. Android updates were downloaded and installed quickly in the background no fuss no muss. The screen resolution is excellent and bright, text is sharp, easy to read, colours are rich and vivid. Comparable to all modern high end devices.Battery life has been great, lasting all day, running youtube videos, playing music, and doing video calls. Processing speeds are excellentThe camera resolutions are good for the video as well as photos. One feature we would like the developers to consider would be a “knock to open” function, as the only way to activate the screen is with the power button, which is in the stiff case. The tablets most major disadvantage is its weight. It can be hard to hold up for any period of time meaning you will either need a stand or get used to using it flat.I must say that the excellent experience we have had and are having with our other UMiDiGi devices, continues!I trust the value and build quality of this Active T1 which like our other UMIDIGI devices, punches above their weight and class, I won’t have to buy any accessories, I can still use the wired headphones I already own, and have bluetooth connectivity if needed, a nice big battery that lasts a good long while, has support for the latest Android and security patches, expandable storage, a device that does what I need it to do and at a reasonable price.UMIDIGI is a brand that we have come to appreciate, If you fall in the same use category as us, this may be a device to try. I started many years ago with a budget A5 Pro, and our experience with the brand has been positive so far.

Working in an industrial setting and needing a tablet, I knew an expensive device was not the best option. Enter Umidigi … I had heard of them before, but had never used any of their products. I read lots of reviews and ordered it. I have not been disappointed. Excellent battery life, Android-based with no bloatware, and it fits perfectly into my tool bag, so I have all the information I need for OTG. The case that comes with it is also very good and is very rugged. It has survived a couple of “oopsies”! The stylus that comes with it is also a great idea, especially when you have dirty hands, but I have not used it too much to be honest; however, it is a great addition. All in all, this is a great value tablet, and I would not hesitate in recommending it for use in harsh environments or not.
