Easy to install and very flush fit.
I replaced a massive case which had been installed in my house when it was built 20 years ago, which was supposed to be future proof. It was over 24” tall and stuck out of the wall almost 4”. It turns out it wasn’t so future proof after all. There was only one coaxial cable in there and an electrical outlet, since I don’t have a phone landline or cable TV anymore. This case could have handled more a lot more, but I did not need it. I did have to patch up the massive hole left behind, which cost about $30 worth of materials, but so worth it in the end.

Decent box for in-wall cable management
I actually got one of these to shove an Odroid H3 into the wall with its power supply, usb cables, monitor cables, sound bar cables etc. It gets a little cramped with everything i have shoved in there but seems to do the job.It took me a little effort to find an outlet that fin in this box (locally). I also had to shave down one side of the outlet cover because the outside frame of the box would not sit properly until I didOverall does what it’s supposed to. Just barely fits between standard studs between drywall

    The Frame
YES IT FITS! For those that are unsure. The “connect” box has to be placed before you install the faceplate. 4 short screws to remove faceplate if you need to take the “connect” box out. Easy

    9″ media enclosure
I called Sanus/Legrand (same company) and they recommended a specific Sanus tv mount for my new tv; which is the same tv mount in the pictures. Mine was about 1/8″ to tall on the 9″ side. I marked little over 1/16″ on both ends. Took my cordless grinder and grinder down the sides. It then fit like a charm. FYI-tried hand sanding it down first and it was taking forever-the grinder took like 5 mins. Then another couple minutes with a cheap sanding block. Almost looks factory. I ran hdmi cables from cable box, sound bar (in and out), tv power is terminate internally, my apple 2021 4k box is mounted internally plus the hdmi cable, and my Ethernet cable for the tv. I added a duplex receptacle on the top and bottom via the factory knockouts, then used zip ties to keep the romex tight to the box. It came with a small piece of Velcro to secure everything-but it wasn’t enough to keep everything bundled nicely and the Apple TV box secured, So I ordered a roll of USA made 1/2 Velcro from Amazon as well. That way I could wrap my tv’s power cord, Atv box, and all the different cables and keep everything nice and neat.I bought bundle that included the internal shelf so I could mount my Apple TV to it.Legrand sells a package of 2″ rubber grommets for the pass through holes. Ran about $2 from lowes the big blue box hardware store. Get them-they protect all the cable going in about of the box via inside the wall. The Sanus 9″ media enclosure and the Legrand 9″ media enclosure are the exact same one. The Sanus one is just more expensive. They also sell a larger one-encase anyone wanted to mount their cable box in there as well. The description mentions WiFi/Bluetooth pass through cover. I can say it is true to their word. As I have had no problem with WiFi on my Atv box or the remote control for it.It comes with all the hardware needed to either install this before Sheetrock is up or like me-and have to cut it in.I would/will buy this again. It was pretty simple to do. Only real downside was trimming the sides down

    Perfect for Apple TV
I installed this enclosure to compliment an existing recessed outlet behind my television and allow for a hidden Apple TV installation. It fits perfectly between the studs; I didn’t need the drywall wings. I was able to secure it with wood screws to studs on either side.

Be Careful – Not all parts included
The box itself is decent, but be aware that for this price, it is JUST the box. No outlets, outlet boxes, grommet covers, nothing. Also, if you go to buy the “compatible” receptacle and box, they’re like $35+ per receptacle. And they’re anything but compatible – the screws stick out and lift the plate cover, there’s no room in the box, and it doesn’t line up correctly. You’re better off buying a deeper retrofit box and just drilling new holes in the flanges. I had much better luck and it cost about $4 per outlet instead of $35+. Saved around $60 and was a better end result.
