Fully-functioning NES on a modern TV for a low price
I got this since I wanted an NES, and after watching Rerez’s video on it, I decided it looked cool and cheap enough. I am not disappointed. I plan to collect video games in the future, however at the moment, I only have one NES game, so this is based entirely on that, so this will be based on my copy of the Mario and Duck Hunt combo cart. First thing I noticed is Mario appears to be noticeably higher pitch than the original, but Duck Hunt seems fine. Because of that, I’m fairly certain that it’s the fault of the cartridge so I’m not gonna deduct points for that, but if I figure what causes it I’ll be sure to edit this. Aside from this, the two controllers it comes with- which cost TWENTY BUCKS- are really nice and less jagged than the original. Other than that, well…they’re NES controllers, I don’t know what you want me to say. As for video output, the composite looks eh but that’s because composite generally is eh. But you bought this for the HDMI. An oh boy does it look CRISP. Not only are the colors brighter than composite, but the edges are so smooth looking and- jeez, it’s just beautiful. Not AS crisp as the AVS for example, mind you, but considering the AVS is ~$180 and this is $40, it’s worth the small compromise. And for those of you that like the darker and more rough look of older TVs, though I criticized composite for that, i that’s your thing this thing makes it look almost indistinguishable. So even for classic looks, it gets an A+. All and all, this product is the kind of thing you’d expect to find for way more than $40. It does so much so very well, and for that I think this thing deserves 5 stars. If you’re a fan of the NES like me but don’t have one and don’t wanna buy an expensive one, or even if you DO own one but want one that has HDMI, this product is DEFINITELY for you. I cannot emphasize this enough, highly recommended

I wouldn’t trade it for a truckload of Hershey bars.
In my opinion, this unit is the absolute best NES device available. Even better than my original NES consol was (and the $15 cheaper $25 clones). Not only because, so far, my old games don’t get stuck in the contacts like the cheaper clones are reportedly doing and it plays flawlessly but also because it has 2 video outputs, HDMI(720) or the original AV cables, and the video also has an option to be changed to play in either a 4:3 or 16:9 aspect ratio with a switch in the back to accommodate wide screen TVs. I have been very pleased to be able to be bankrupting Maude, Gertrude and Arthur with it again in my old NES “Monopoly game” But still haven’t been able to beat up Mike Tyson in “Punch out”. He’s a tough dude.

It works….but it lags
It’s not terrible, especially for the price. Sadly when trying to play a game with precision platforming the lag is deadly. The colors, sound and everything are great, just the input lag is what really kneecaps this system. The bundled controllers are nice and much more form-fitting than the original rectangles of pointy doom from our childhood. Tried two games so far. SMB was nearly impossible to play due to the lag. Oddly enough the lag wasn’t so bad that it made California Games impossible to play…… challenging for sure….. but not impossible. This is a cheap reliable alternative to an original NES or more expensive clone consoles….. but there’s the obvious trade-off involved when it comes to input lag

The best NES substitute!
Great speedy service, and awesome console to play NES with! Spent almost 3 hours trying it out, and it works great. Would totally recommend for any retro NES gamer!PROS: The package comes with its own controllers, but this will also allow the original NES controllers to be hooked up to it as well if youâre still used to the nostalgic feeling.CONS: Will not work with Duck Hunt or possibly any other NES gun related games. The controllers provided give just a tad bit of a delay, but with time, it can be gotten used to. The sound is a pitch higher, but nothing major.TIPS: Take care when inserting and pulling out cartridges as they are pretty snug. If playing on an HD widescreen, 16:9 ratio is recommended for game use. Reviews on YouTube have also shown that with a special attachment (not included in this package), SEGA Genesis games can be played with the same console.
