One of the BEST books Iâve read!
It explains how important it is to building a dream team of people that support you whether itâs doctors, therapist, family, and friends, nutritionist, just amazing. Very simple, easy to understand even hopes you realize how to start your personal journal and gives you very good knowledge as a beginner with gastroparesis. Itâs truly one of the best books Iâve ever purchased!

Excellent book to understand Gastroparesis
I got one for my sister, and for myself to help understand Gastroparesis better. We were able to read it together (long distance), and she was able to make some good adjustments to her routine to help her eat better, reduce stress levels, and new exercises. Her gastroenterologist wanted to read it when she was finished! I would highly recommend this book.

Helpful reference about Gastroparesis
I was Gastroparesis about15 years ago and knew I had to reduce the size of the protein in my meals but this book gave more specific information that was quite helpful. Written with easy -to-understand language and helpful suggestions.

Very helpful a must read.
Itâs hard getting any medical support and advice ~ this book is a must to navigate living with gastroparesis!!So wonderful to find support. Medical community didnât offer list of foods to eat and avoid like this book. I had first read kindle book, then ordered paperback book so I can have lists and possible prescriptions at my fingertips. Helped immediately when offered a drug with horrible side effects didnât want to chance muscle damage so asked for alternative she suggested in her book. All I can say is thank you!!

Great book for stomach problems
I have a stomach disorder and not allowed much fiber or fat in my diet. This book helped me to understand what I had to do for home life and eating out at food places. It has recipes in the back of the book to cook with. I use this book if I have a question about something I need to know. It’s my reference guide and keep it in the kitchen.

Finally Someone Who Can Answer My Questions!
I was diagnosed on 11/18/13. The doctor gave me some information that was extremely brief & generic. I was overwhelmed with the diagnosis & being faced with a formidable disorder that I’d never heard about but had impacted my life greatly. First stop: the local library. Not one book on the subject for laypeople. I found two medical texts that I cannot read because I am not a doctor, so the language is above my head. I spoke to a dietician, who wasn’t very helpful. Since I didn’t know what to ask for questions, I didn’t even know what information to request from my gastroenterologist. So I came to Amazon & did a search. I downloaded the Kindle sample. It was enough to convince me to purchase the entire book. What a blessing this book has been to my overwhelmed soul! In question & answer form, Crystal asked, and then answered, all the questions I didn’t know that I should ask. She outlines different treatment options that she’s uncovered, as well as complementary therapies. She speaks with authority, as one who has had a grastroparesis diagnosis since 2004. She bravely shares her story & what she’s learned, making my road to living well with this disorder much easier to manage and consider. She speaks in plain English, even when she’s using medical terms. If you are considering this book vs. the cookbook, you will be pleased to know that there are recipes included in this book. There are more recipes in the cookbook, but the narrative of the cookbook is, from what I’ve been told, much more narrow-focused than this book. If you can only get one book first, get this one first. Go over it, try the suggestions, then buy the cookbook, which I will be doing soon.

I was diagnosed with this condition in 2009 and have spent the last three years battling for information and assistance from medical staff in the UK that know very little about this disease. I have undergone major surgery and am currently being “fed” with a tube.Reading this book has been a revelation for me and for the very first time since becoming ill I finally think there might be a light at the end of the tunnel.Crystal writes from the heart – as you read the book, you’ll feel she is in the room talking to you and explaining things in a way that you can understand. Every time I started a new chapter it was like another light bulb came on and I would find myself thinking “of course……….that makes perfect sense!”If you suffer from gastroparesis, I can honestly say that this will be the only book you will ever need to read and it will offer you more insight into this disease than you can possibly imagine. More importantly, Crystal does something very special with this book – she takes the control and hands it back to you…….I only wish I could have rated this higher than 5 stars!

I was diagnosed with Gastroparesis a couple weeks ago. I did research online but nothing gave me more information than this book. I have a better understanding of what is happening in my body and also what I can expect in the future. With Crystal’s very helpful tips, (that I wouldn’t have thought of myself) I can actually see a future with managing my symptoms and having a somewhat normal life. What I liked best of all was that the author has gastroparesis (sounds very wrong, I know) but it put my mind at ease knowing that she went and is going through what is happening to me now. Her understanding and knowledge is beyond amazing. I will definitely re-read this book in the near future and I’m already practicing the advice that she offers. Thank you Crystal for sharing your knowledge of Gastroparesis and for guiding me in the right direction.

This book provides very comprehensive information on living with Gastroparesis. My son has had this condition for many years and having had a recent flare up, we were desperate for information to help manage the condition in order to avoid recurrent hospital admissions. The NHS were very unhelpful and indeed often went against they’re own advice, causing many interruptions to his recovery. This book has been a life-saverl, it’s very informative, providing the confidence to experiment in a safe calculated way with trying different foods to enable better nutrition, to sufferers from this complex condition.
