Just ordered 3rd pair- have only worn 1 pair
My husband works 45-50 hours/week in the produce department of a grocery store. They are required to have non-slip shoes. Since he is in management, he cannot wear shoes that look like athletic shoes so we have to find business shoes that fit the bill. He wore Rockport for 2 years- until they discontinued his shoe. (That shoe would last almost 6 months, so we were used to spending $120/year on his work shoes. ) When I saw his shoe was discontinued, I started the search for another durable pair- which seems to be a very difficult task these days. I found a $54 pair that looked similar to the Rockports from a department store. They looked nice but that soon faded as they broke down, almost instantly. Adding $15 inserts helped them limp to making almost 3 months of wear. During this time, I was on the search- again- for shoes. About the time I thought it was a losing battle, I came across the Dr. Schollâs dress shoes. I remember being so excited and saying, âI didnât know Dr. Schollâs made non-slip DRESS shoes!!â (Before management, my husbandâs favorite pair of shoes were the Dr. Schollâs non-slip walking shoes.)I ordered 2 pair with with confidence, secure in my trust in the Dr. Schollâs brand. (And also happy there was a coupon, making them $40/pair. ) I was a bit hesitant about the look of the shoe because my husband is more old-school and leans more to a loafer type shoe and always complained that this look of shoe looked âoafy.â The day the shoes came, he was at work. When he came home for lunch, I showed him the shoes and he immediately kicked off the tragic pair, put on the Dr. Schollâs, stood up and said, âWow! These feel awesome!â He has plantar fasciitis that he usually has to use inserts if the arch isnât good enough. He didnât need the inserts and went back to work. When he came home, I asked how the shoes felt- he looked down and said, âI havenât even thought about my feet since having these on so I have to say, âGreat!â â I asked how he thought they looked and he said he actually liked them- that they felt sturdier than the Rockport loafers and this pair didnât look oafy like others. That was December 24, 2020. I am writing this on May 21, 2021 and he is still wearing the same pair. They do show signs of wear (heâs hard on his shoes: unloading product from the delivery truck, stocking, cleaning, etc.) but a bi-monthly cleaning and polishing brings back the luster. The shoes themselves havenât broken down yet and have a lot more wear left than the Rockports would have at this point.I was looking at my past orders the other day and there was a $10 off coupon for this pair of Dr. Schollâs shoes so I ordered another pair. (I donât want them to be discontinued and not have any.) We now have 2 pair in reserve for him once these finally give out. (I always give the shoes a good looking over and make him try on the new shoes before storing them to ensure everything is good.)We have put a pair of the plantar fasciitis inserts in the shoes recently to keep his arch up. (He broke his femur in high school and that foot is really hard on arches since it rolls in more than it should.)That just reminded me that these shoes DONâT stink!! The crap pair before these and even the Rockports would get the most pungent smell!! I havenât had to spray or put any powder in these shoes at all- so thereâs a huge plus for me!He has worn a size 9, regular (medium) width for over 35 years and these shoes are true to size.I know how important shoes are- not just for your feet but for your back too. A good pair of work shoes is a must and not something to skimp on. Thankfully, Dr. Schollâs is keeping the bar high with these by making a great pair of shoes that last and offering them at a very reasonable price. From now on, weâre sticking with Dr. Schollâs!

Fit great and are comfortable enough to wear all day
These shoes are a classic design for work shoes that I started wearing over 50 years ago. It took me forever to find them online because of all the cheesy mesh sneakers being passed of for work shoes these days but when I found these…Oh Yeah. The best part is if you keep them clean, they can also be worn with jeans or Dickie’s slacks and they still look good. Appropriate. The design is at least 80 years old and will never go out of style. True classics never do.

Good if they fit your feet and work conditions.
I needed to get proper dress shoes for my work as a bank teller. These have been worn 5 days a week on my walks to and from work for a little over 3 years now. I’m standing almost all day at my station and these have provided pretty nice comfort. I also really like the style because it doesn’t feel like I have to constantly shine them thanks to the texture that’s not too shiny. Also helps hide scuffs you might get. I have yet to find a better looking pair browsing Amazon. I would say these were perfectly good for at least 2 and a half years. However, these clearly are meant for indoor wearing. Big puddles means wet socks and the tread on the bottoms have mostly become smooth. They also have worn down unevenly which has made both standing and walking a little awkward. The insides of the show have also started to tear up a bit and bunch in places which is even more frustrating to stand on for hours. I realize no shoes last forever, especially ones you wear on a daily basis in conditions they weren’t designed for, but the biggest reason I’m knocking off one star here is simply for the sizing options. My feet are a tad small for these as I really need something like a 6 wide to 6.5 wide. The size 7 was a bit tight until I broke them in, but I still bumped into a lot of things due to the extra space beyond my toes. More sizes would be appreciated, but for most people with average size feet I’m sure this isn’t too big of an issue. If other brands aren’t to my liking or if they make a pair in my size then I’ll likely be coming right back to these in the future.

One and done.
Had two pair of these a year apart and neither one survived more than a year. Both failed in the toes area lifting from the sole. I have ordered a set of thorogood boots to replace these failing jalopies and when the thorogoods come in these will eagerly be thrown into the garbage. I don’t recommend these at all. There is nothing the company can do to sway my decision. I am moving onto something a lot more reliable.

Great
Very comfortable, I walk a lot at work and an rarely in my office as I supervise.

These are ok but not great.
I wear these for work. I work in IT and I am on my feet a lot. Iâve had these shoes for about a Month now and I can say Iâve had better work shoes. My main gripe is that the bottom of the heel on one of the shoes is already starting to come off the shoe. Granted these arenât expensive shoes in the first place but Iâd expect them to last longer than a month before wear and tear starts to set in. So that said if you want high quality shoes you might want to look elsewhere. These are generally comfortable shoes though. The only change I made was swapping the insoles out for ones that are more comfortable for my feet.

Well made and comfortable, good quality shoes.
