Pretty lightweight
The MULO Leg Gaiters are ok, but are a little lighter weight than I thought they would be. They work much like you would expect gaiters to work. They cover the bottom portion of you legs and have strap to keep them in place. That part all works great. These gaiters are advertised to be 100% waterproof. I’m not sure quite what that means, but I would assume you would need your boots to be waterproof as well to keep your feet dry in extreme water situations. Overall, these gaiters are fine for lighter duty situations. Useful for light hiking or light hunting situations like upland bird hunting.

Really good middle-of-the-road option!
I am pretty impressed with these gaiters. I have owned several gaiters over the years for different reasons and I find these to be a solid choice! These are great for backpacking. I have some other gaiters that I use for Search and Rescue activities where I may have to walk THROUGH thick brush and need super thick and sturdy fabric and weight is not an issue. These are lighter and won’t take up as much room or weight in my pack. That said, I DO find that the fabric is tough and durable, so I expect them to hold up for a long time. The biggest thing I don’t like with them is the drawstring at the top of the calf. I have come to love an prefer a strap up there for comfort as well as strength. The drawstring is fine, but it is not the best choice in my opinion. I like the storage pouch that came with it as that gives me a place to store them in my pack if needed without any dirt transferring to the rest of my pack. The instep strap is a thinner material, but seems to be the type that is quite robust so I hope will last. Time will tell. Another good thing is the wider velcro closure running up the front. It has enough stiffness to it to help in holding the gaiters up and keeping their shape. This is a good thing, and gaiters of this type that aren’t stiff enough there mostly fall down with use. I like these gaiters and would recommend them if you are looking for something to try and you have never worn them before, or if you want a solid choice on a budget price. I have used gaiters over the years for hiking and backpacking, but saw that another reviewer used them to cut weeds while wearing shorts. I think I will have to try as well as I have needed that option on hot summer days instead of jeans!

Thick fabric! Great for thick brush.
I took these on an off trail backpacking trip in the cascade mountains. We went up some very steep slopes with THICK bushes, shrubs, and devils club. These gaiters kept my legs scratch free and I hardly even noticed they were on! I was super glad to have them. I did have to tuck the strings inside to keep them from catching on the brush.
