Really works
Easy to use. Fits many sizes.

Works well on most jars
Effective when it will fit the jar – teeth have to line up with jar lid. Also requires a certain amount of grip strength to operate. But overall it works and I am happy with it.

This is a waste of metal and not worthy of anyone’s attention
This device in photographs and in general concept is convincing: finally a tool which allows a person to solidly grip a lid and twist it off. This year I purchased this and a different kind of tool and both failed miserably to do what was expected. I should have paid greater attention to the size and some of the details and maybe, just maybe, I wouldn’t have wasted my money on this. The jar grip. This is a toothed rim which may work to bite into a plastic jar lid of a certain size. I am not completely sure what it is meant to work with. All I know is that it won’t grip any lid I work with. What I thought I saw was a grip made of rubber of great enough width that when compressed against a circular lid on both sides would hang on while the lid was loosened. It is not there. The grip is useless. The lock. This is handle that looks like it locks down and keeps the grip tight while you then move the overall device anti-clockwise (or to the left). This doesn’t lock anything. It engages with a toothed surface but does not stay engaged. You can’t keep pushing this down to keep the grip while also attempting to rotate the entire device. Instead I was expecting more of a vice-grip sort of approach that allows the grip to be tightened and locked in place. That is what I thought I saw in the pictures. It is not so in reality. The length. I really wanted this for lids which have a diameter of more than a few inches. They are tough to loosen. You need the length to be at least twice the expected maximum jar diameter to get the leverage needed to twist off the lid. The key element to making this dislodge difficult seals is the leverage. This device is too small to accomodate anything but the smallest lids.In short, this device was meant to look like something that should work and fails miserably.

Can Opening Assist that Sporadically works!
Getting older and having a lot of difficulty opening tops on jarred items. Thought I would try this since theoretically from the description it would be just the thing. Let me be fair and say it does work…..BUT getting the adjustable part to snug up just right is a little time consuming / frustrating and it doesn’t ride up and down the little shaft evenly always so you have to wiggle or shimmy it a bit to get it snugged on the top. Once in place though, not so bad to hold pressure on the lever and rotate. It is a mediocre item that sporadically works well and is a bit flimsy. For the quality it is …….it should be maybe a few dollars. — Will use it until it stops working but not planning on buying another.

This thing is a miracle!
I’ve looked for a lot of products under the umbrella of “arthritis” or “seniors” or “weak hands” and I’ve seen a lot of products with 3 or 5 holes for specific shapes of jars, with a single-hinge kind of design, and I knew that was no good for longevity. This thing is PERFECT for my needs. It’s adjustable to all kinds of lid sizes, thanks to the grooves cut on the inside of the long sides, and is completely battery-and-electricity-and-smartphone-app free! There’s only two moving parts, it doesn’t need dishwashing (cuz the outside of your jar should be clean when you go to open it anyway), it’s completely emergency-proof!That said, there is a bit of a learning curve. I cut horizontal lines into the sides of the plastic jar lid I used this on the first time or two! Those jaws mean business!I learned I have to place the tool down onto the jar “upside down” so that smooth parts of the tool are on top, with the handle piece to my left. I then have to move the sliding piece into place on the opposite side of the jar lid, then squeeze down the small angled piece with my left hand, which locks the little metal tooth into the grooves on the inside of the handle, so the tool no longer adjusts its diameter around the jar lid. Finally, while squeezing, I turn the handle it towards my body (and say out loud, “righty tighty, lefty loosey”), while holding the jar steady with my right hand. That has given me the most consistent success.

Not so good
With one weak and are arthritic hands, the jaws are not shallow to open water bottle lids. You have to secure the jaw locking teeth and that requires another hand. It needs a spring to facilitate the jaw pressure and the locking lever on the side. Trust me, this item is not so good. Don’t buy it. Try something else.

I have had multiple stroke s. My right side has lost both strength and grip force. I have 3 other bottle opener’s. Each only works on one bottle type. I brought this on looks only. The design and length of handle makes strength and grip a problem of the past.. the only issue that I have is on some plastic bottle top that are supper tight. It is necessary to get the teeth to grip the centre of the cap lid. The ability of this opener is such that if it is not on centre line it will rip the lid or cap apart. Other wise it does a brilliant job. I can not be more happy with this product.

This tool works good for me. I wished that the “teeth” is thicker. In its current design, the lid can get jammed. An improved design can have the “teeth” to end up grabbing the entire lid and not have skinnier lids get jammed.

Not a well-built item haver real problem trying to use it as described. I have given up using it as it does not work.

AMAZON YOU SHOULD STOP SELLING THIS PRODUCT UNTIL JEFF BEZOS HAS HAD FUN WITH IT. THIS PRODUCT CAN ONLY BE USED AS A PAPERWEIGHT. IT COMES WITH TWO RUBBER GRIPPERS THAT THE BUYER HAS TO INSTALL INTO THE METAL JAWS. BUT, THE RUBBER GRIPPERS WILL NOT STAY PUSHED ONTO THE METAL JAWS, EVEN WHEN I AM ONLY TRYING TO ADJUST THE DEVICE. THE WHOLE COCKAMAMIE RATCHET ADJUSTMENT SECTION WILL NEVER WORK AS BUILT- IT NEEDS A SPRING TO PULL THE RATCHET PAWL TO ENGAGE IN THE RATCHET TRACK- BUT EVEN THAT MAY NOT WORK. I AM A PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER WITH MANY YEARS OF MANUFACTURING EXPERIENCE- SO THIS IS NOT MY FIRST RODEO! I AM TEMPTED TO TRY AND FIX THIS THING BUT LIFE IS TOO SHORT FOR THIS RUBBISH.
