Feature-Packed Headset with Room for Improvement
I recently got my hands on this headset, and it’s been quite the experience. Right out of the box, it comes with an OLED control hub, the wireless headset with haptics, three cables, and a sleek black drawstring bag.First off, the headset design is pretty impressive. It features an LED backlight/status indicator, a haptics button to adjust intensity or turn it off, and a multifunction button for mode switching, Bluetooth pairing, and audio EQ settings. The retractable mic is a nice touch, and I appreciate the different textures on the power button, volume control wheel, and mic mute button. It makes it so much easier to find the right control without having to look, especially during intense gaming sessions. The audio EQ lets you switch between different profiles like game, movie, music, and custom settings. The headset is comfortable to wear, even with glasses, and the mic works well for in-game communication. However, I have to mention the manual. It’s a single, multi-folded piece of black paper with gray lettering, and it’s honestly a pain to read. The mixed languages (English, Spanish, Portuguese) all crammed together make it confusing. They were going for a cool, minimalist vibe, but it just complicates the initial setup. I had to go through a lot of trial and error to figure out how to switch between Bluetooth mode, simultaneously USB + Bluetooth mode, and Hyperspeed. The THX spatial audio (7.1 surround sound) is only available on PC because it requires the Razer Synapse software. Speaking of which, the software itself needs some work. It crashes occasionally, which is pretty annoying. Also, the haptics feature is currently only compatible with a handful of gamesâjust five at the momentâand none of them are games I play. I tried the haptics with some videos, and while it’s an interesting concept, I’m not entirely sold on it yet.The OLED control hub is a standout feature. It can connect to your PC, console, and aux simultaneously, allowing you to switch your headset audio between devices seamlessly. The hub displays your headset’s status and settings like volume, connectivity, and battery life. You can also adjust settings directly from the hub and customize the home screen with animations, images, emotes, and text banners. The quick access button and big knob make navigation a breeze.Unfortunately, I have an Xbox Series X, which doesn’t allow pairing with Bluetooth headsetsâa Microsoft issue, not Razer’s fault. I had to connect via the aux input on the control hub and use Bluetooth to connect to my PC to get both Xbox and PC audio simultaneously. Once set up, having PC and console audio at the same time is pretty amazing!Overall, it’s a comfortable headset with some fantastic features, but there are areas that need improvement. The manual could be more user-friendly, the software needs stability fixes, and the haptics feature would benefit from broader game compatibility. It does come with a 2-year warranty, so I’m hopeful it will hold up over time.

Amazing
Iâve used Razer products for years and Iâve never had a problem with them at all. Having said that, I’ve actually never had any of their âhigh endâ products. This is my first. The headset is amazing. The were crystal clear right out of the max. I only had to tweak a few things to my liking. My wallet hurts, but everything else is great!

Warning – Currently Requires Additional Software Purchase for THX Spatial Audio to Work
The headset looks great, feels comfy, and sounds ok. But for $400 this should be a premium headset that works perfectly and does not require additional software purchases to make it work.Currently Razer Synapse is bugged and THX Spatial Audio does not work properly with the headset so in many instances the sound is very poor. I tried playing call of duty black ops 6 with THX spatial audio and it sounded absolutely awful. It was obviously bugged. I had to purchase the stand-alone THX Spatial Audio app for $20 to get it to work, then it sounded fine. Point being though, you should not charge $400 (which is already overpriced for what you get) for a headset and then expect the customer to pay an additional $20 to utilize all features. A razer support tech told me that I can use THX via Synapse but it is not currently working and appears to be a known bug, so the stand-alone app is your only option. Also one other really annoying bug I noticed in synapse (which there may be a fix for but I sent the headset back before I investigated this issue further) was my mic volume kept turning down to 0 every time I started my pc and had to manually raise it every time.I like a lot of razer gear but this headset is a big kick in the face to consumers in my opinion.
