X-H2S offers a powerful and versatile combination of photographic and filmmaking features to enhance any storyteller’s vision. Central to its success are the 26.1-megapixel, back-illuminated X-Trans 5 stacked sensor and X-Processor 5, which combine to provide a 14-stop dynamic range and outstanding performance in all lighting conditions. For motion professionals, there is a wealth of 6.2K 30P full sensor 3:2 recording options, which includes internal 10-bit 4:2:2 Apple ProRes and external Apple ProRes RAW and Blackmagic RAW, all with an electronic shutter capable of making images at 40 frames-per-second, with up to 7-stops of in-body image stabilization, and with an AI-powered advanced autofocus system designed to ensure that performance-seeking stills photographers will also not be disappointed.
X-H2S is the first X Series camera to feature the 26.1-megapixel, X-Trans 5 stacked back-illuminated sensor. The unique X-Trans color filter array that minimizes moiré and false colors, placing the sensor’s circuitry on a separate layer from the pixels delivers outstanding image quality thanks to expanded low light capabilities and up to 14-stops of dynamic range. The new X-Processor 5, offers lightning-fast performance for the most demanding situations. Capable of handling vast amounts of data, X-Processor 5 delivers next-level performance enhancements in video and stills processing capabilities and intelligent autofocus functionality that’s 3x faster than Fujifilm’s preceding X-T4 model.
Powerful video features make X-H2S a go-to device – both for hybrid image makers and dedicated motion professionals. Up to 90 minutes of footage can be internally recorded with a single battery, at a wide range of resolutions and frame rates up to 6.2K/30P in Open Gate 3:2, 4K/120P, and Full HD/240P. This delivers unparalleled flexibility within the X Series lineup. Additionally, the ability to record 10-bit 4:2:2 Apple ProRes footage internally to CFexpress Type B memory cards offers incredible post-production flexibility, while the X-Trans 5 sensor’s 14-stop dynamic range optimizes the level of image detail across a uniquely wide exposure range.
The autofocusing system in X-H2S is not only quick, but also highly advanced. Capable of working in light levels down to -7EV and keeping up with both fast and erratically moving subjects, it now features Subject Detection autofocus, utilizing AI to deliver an unmatched autofocus performance. Previous X Series models offer Face and Eye Detection AF, X-H2S’s Subject Detection AF broadens the range of identifiable subjects to further enhance focusing accuracy. The new system can identify and track cars, planes, trains, motorcyclists, birds, horses, dogs, cats and more. Furthermore, face and eye detection capabilities have been expanded to pick up hairlines, glasses, and face coverings.
X-H2S delivers powerful performance, suitable for any professional photographer or filmmaker. Continuous shooting is possible at 15 frames-per-second with the mechanical shutter, and up to 40 frames-per-second when the electronic shutter is deployed. These impressive speeds are backed up by the camera’s high-capacity buffer, which allows unlimited continuous recording and writing of JPEG and RAW files to a high-speed memory card when using the mechanical shutter. The perfect hybrid camera!
The Fujifilm X-H2S in my opinion is the perfect hybrid camera.Fujifilm has made really thoughtful decisions on the design of this camera. They have gone with a stacked sensor and the same resolution as the previous generation. The stacked sensor means a very fast sensor readout, making this a great camera for silent shooting, sports and video.Keeping the resolution at 26MP reduces the possibility of noise creeping up associated with fast sensor. So a fantastic compromise, that doesnât bow down to marketing. We as photographers are better for that. This is an excellent camera for both photographers and videographers!A quick background:I am a Sony full frame photographer that has been using every version of the A7R series. I currently have the A7R IV.I did have the Fujifilm X-H1, but regretfully sold it a couple of months ago to focus on one system.I was on vacation in Europe when the Fujifilm X-H2S was announced, so I really did not get the time to follow the release. On getting back and curating some of the pictures from my vacation, I realized some of my favorite photographs were from the X-H1.This led me to take a second look at the X-H2S. This camera is exactly the balance that I was looking for and the bonus is the excellent Fujifilm âfilmâ simulations. The picture look great straight out of the camera. The Eterna video profile also really reduces the need to process video on the computer. It just looks great. The high speed readout of the sensor makes silent shooting practical and videos looking great. This is not just a great sports and video camera, but a great all around camera.I think it is worth the asking price over competitors at the same level, even full frame ones.Itâs been a week since I purchased and will update this review as I gain more experience with it.I am tempted to get another body in the near future. Itâs that good.Highly recommended!

Best Hybrid Camera for professional
As a passionate photographer, I recently upgraded to the Fuji X-H2S, which has elevated my photography experience. This mirrorless camera is a masterpiece, combining cutting-edge technology with the classic design elements that Fujifilm is renowned for.The camera’s autofocus system is lightning-fast and accurate, whether I’m shooting stills or capturing 4K video. The weather-sealed body gives me the confidence to shoot in various conditions. The intuitive layout of buttons and dials ensures a seamless shooting experience, and the articulating touchscreen is a welcome addition for framing shots at challenging angles. The in-body image stabilization (IBIS) is a game-changer, providing steady shots even in challenging shooting conditions. While the battery life is generally good, carrying a spare is always wise, especially during extended shooting sessions. However, the USB-C charging option provides a convenient backup when power outlets are scarce. Its blend of exceptional image quality, advanced features, and a user-friendly interface make it a worthwhile investment for anyone serious about their photography.

Beautiful camera, full frame quality
First let me say that I had all three major brands in their FF format: Nikon, Sony and Canon. I still own a full Canon RF kit that costed me the whole annual bonus. The only APS-C I had in my life was an old D3200 when I began with this hobby. Now, due to portability and cost I decided to give a try to Fujifilm too, and I started with a X-T5; beautiful camera, extremely elegant, but the autofocus was not up to the job for my needs (i.e. taking pictures of my son playing soccer, and other tasks on the same line). So, I’ve decided to return it and to go with the X-H2S instead which is reported as the brand’s flagship within the APS-C format. I received it only earlier today so I’ve been testing it just for few hours, but my first impression is that it’s absolutely amazing. The picture quality is – to me – equivalent to FF sensors. The same for the dynamic range. The most incredible feature to me is the autofocus: I can’t honestly tell the difference vs. my Canon R5 (the comparison was done with 35mm f1.8 Canon vs. 27mm f1.4 Viltrox, so not exactly the same conditions, but still equally impressive). The ergonomic is one of the best I have ever felt in any camera: bulky but light, and with an amazing firm grip. It’s incredible to me to see how many progresses have been within the APS-C world since my experience with the D3200. I will take it out for testing on a soccer field and for some bird photography soon (I can’t wait).

In love with this camera
Love this camera. Feels great in the hand, functionality (coming from canon) is intuitive and quick, and most importantly the pics and video capabilities and quality are amazing.

Arrived on time and works so right…except for the poor focus issues.
As a long time Fujifilm user I love the ergonomics of this camera and performance except for one major issue they still need to improve, the autofocus problems. I wanted to finally give up on Fujifilm after the XH2 & XH2S and go with another brand but its still an excellent value of a camera, if they can only fix this horrible issue.

Autofocus is inoperable
Bought this cam with lenses 2 years ago. When I first purchased the autofocus was reliable and useful. Now after updating firmware a few times the autofocus has taken a huge dip. Many users are flipping out online. Iâm only writing this review to help people not make the same mistake I made. Buy something from another brand. Obviously Fuji does not have a great team doing quality assurance with updates.

La mejor camara de la linea fuji que he tenido, aunque la curva de aprendizaje muy larga, la Xt5 si tuviera el sensor apilado y grabara 120 fps, esta ni existiera.

Upgraded from my Fuji XT-3 to this and was definitely worth it.The perfect hybrid system. With incredible video features and wonderful photo capabilities – itâs the only camera you need to create stunning, almost cinema like images.Just remember if you want to get the full video capabilities of this system you will need to invest in a CF Express card so it does add to the cost. Also – there is no battery charger included so will have to get one of those as well. But weâll worth it!

Gran desempeño, auto foco suficientemente decente, las simulaciones son definitivamente su gran plus, grabar en prores también es una maravilla si te dedicas al video.

This camera can pretty much do it all. I use mostly for video. I love the internal 10bit recording and the Prores option. SD cards and Cfexpress cards are not cheap , but worth it if you want to get the most out of this camera though. But between that and an Atomos Ninja V recorder, at least you have options. Nice work Fuji.
