Really nice linen/cotton combo quilt. Similar to higher end brands. Complaints are minor.
Quick Summary:I like this linen/cotton combination quilt from Hyde Lane. Although it is a bit pricey for an item on Amazon, it is lower – and in some cases much lower – than comparably made items from higher-end retailers. The quality seems comparable as well, though only long-time use will determine that.It does pill a bit with early washes due to it’s size (I got the king) and construction, but those pills aren’t “stuck’ to the fabric, and shake off/come off easily without needing a lint shaver. For some reason, even though it’ a quilt vs. a comforter, it took several dry cycles to dry completely. It will shed – as all items like this do – quite a bit with the first wash/dry, and less so every time after that.For now, I recommend it.Details: I got this because I wanted a breathable layer of slightly heavier bedding that could be either a mid-layer under between my topsheet and comforter, or a top layer (with my comforter removed) depending on how hot I’m sleeping. I had a “nice” muslin quilt from Amazon that looks very similar to this one, but it as already started getting holes/runs/tears after several washes. No more muslin for me.This quilt is very nicely constructed. I was a bit worried after unpacking because the linen top/outer layer seemed rough, and the bottom cotton layer wasn’t as soft as I expected. They both softened quite a bit with the first wash (the bottom cotton layer much more so than the linen top layer), and will continue to soften with every wash.The velvet trim around all for sides of the quilt is a nice subtle touch. The stitching is very good throughout, including the seams, box stitching, trim, etc. It is a nice mid-weight quilt…heavy enough to feel and provide warmth, but breathable.In my household, we end up with somehow everyone – kids and pets included – putting hands/feet/bodies on the master bed, and so far the quilt and pillows have faired well against dog claws, kid jumping, and a plus-sized dad who moves around a lot while sleeping. I’ve had bedding that doesn’t pass that testing within a few weeks.This looks like similar king-sized items – that are either linen/cotton or all-cotton – from retailers like West Elm (~$160 on sale, quilt + shams), Pottery Barn ($143 on sale, quilt only), Quince ($170 on sale, quilt only), and Company Store ($209 on sale, quilt only). Tuft & Needle, LL Bean, and others all have similar offerings, as well, with a range of prices. I found similar Eddie Bauer-branded bedding for under $100 on certain sites, but their bedding—in my direct experience—has been very inconsistent in the last decade and not worth the gamble.I don’t know much about Hyde Lane (this brand), only that from my very light research, they seem to be an imported online-only brand that sells through Amazon, Wayfair, etc. They seem to be consistently well-reviewed across many products and specialize in bedding. Their offerings are comparable to several of the retailers mentioned above, but often for 10%- 20% lower prices—or even lower on certain products.When writing, this quilt is $129.99 for a king-size set, including the quilt and shams. Many of the above brands only include the quilt, as noted, and the shams are an additional $20-$50 each. So this is a comparable set for $130 compared to sets that start at $160 and go up very quickly into the $ 200s- $ 300s for a whole set.I got this through the Vine Program in exchange for this review. Although I don’t know much about this brand, it’s fair to say I’d have taken that risk for the savings compared to the other brands (though to be honest, I’ve never had a bad experience when I’ve spent the premium for something from Company Store). The brand’s reviews are consistently good, and the price is right.

Nice quilt set!
This is a nice set. It comes with quilt and two pillow cases. Quilts are typically thinner than comforters or duvets so we use them in the warm months. I’ll be excited to use it next summer! It seems to be a nice texture. Not too stiff.

Love the color!
It feels very nice, warm and comfy. It doesn’t fluff up very much, but it does have some weight to it. Not too much, just perfect for me.

It’s well sewn. The medium weight bedspread fits my pillow top queen size mattress perfectly. It’s generously sized to lay nicely over the sides. The color is as pictured, and it works very well with my decor. The fabric provides warmth while maintaining breathability. It machine washed and dries beautifully. I deducted one star because it arrived with some unknown thing adhered to it when we opened it. I don’t know if it was a bug or food, I couldn’t tell but it was yucky. It cleaned off leaving no staining or damage. After a good cleaning, I am happy with the set.
