A dual-screen productivity beast
You know, laptops have been on that same general trajectory as cell phones. They too used to come in all shapes and sizes, until a “Golden” standard was designed (The iPhone candybar for phones and the clamshell for laptops). After that, laptops pretty much just iterated – lighter, thinner, adjusting screen, keyboard & trackpad sizes – small changes. It’s strange to think about, but the first mass-produced dual screen laptop was Lenovo’s W700ds, with a tiny pull-out second screen. It was novel, but not really something you could justify paying a premium for.Today, devices like the Yogabook, the Zenbook Duo, Thinkpad X1 Fold Zenbook 17 Fold, etc. are bringing the REAL (looking at you Thinkpad Plus Gen 3) dual screen form factor back into the public consciousness. I personally was a huge fan of the Zenbook Duo “stacked” format, but I’m trained for the side-by-side format. That’s what caught my eye about the X1. I really like having the screens at one level/angle and the ability to use it, or not, is a huge plus. Naturally, I had to have it.So what do you get with the X1? Well, let’s go over the basics before we get to the secret sauce. First, you get a metal chassis, which is attractive and durable while not being too heavy (just 3.8Lbs!). I love seeing metal hinges on a metal chassis because that’s usually the main stress point for all laptops. It’s also pretty slim, especially since its packing 2 screens and solid hardware, that needs to be cooled, in one svelte case.It has a small, but useful selection of ports, which includes USB-C charging, which is a HUGE QoL improvement over barrel plugs of old. Honestly I’d rather plug in 2 USB-C cables than have to go back to proprietary plugs. The specs are very respectable, with 16GB of DDR4 Ram and a 1TB SSD. A 12th Gen i7 means that this PC can handle multi-core threaded apps and even virtualization – this means your dream of one PC on the main screen and a virtualized sandbox PC on the other can actually come true… Which is the perfect segue way to the star of the show: the displays.The displays are two 14” FHD (1920×1080) which looks great on screens of this size. I know some people would demand 2k or 4k resolution, but 1) They use so much more power and 2) at 14” they will be scaled up anyway. So there’s really no reason to get a higher resolution on these monitors. Both monitors have the same color temperature and keep the same brightness, so there’s no change between content on either screen. I personally use them in “Extend” mode at all times, where the side monitor just acts like a secondary monitor that I can drag windows to, extend windows across and is recognized easily by Windows. Weirdly enough, I once used the extend function and turning the 2nd screen 180 degrees to build a tech pre-sales deck while my girlfriend watched 300 with attached Bluetooth headphones… on the same computer simultaneously! That’s so cool!. There are 3 other modes that I haven’t used much, the first two being using only the main monitor or 2nd monitor (useful if you don’t have room to fold out the 2nd monitor) and a “clone” mode that could be useful if you want to turn the 2nd screen 180 degrees and share a presentation or video to the person in front of you.Either way, I absolutely adore this laptop and it’s now a daily driver for me in my work life. I’ve received many compliments so far and a lot of puzzled expressions when I first fold out the 2nd screen. I can tell you, many a meeting has started late as everyone asks questions about the laptop. 5 Stars easily, and I hope that this galvanizes other companies to also get into the unorthodox computer format race once again!

I have always preferred a laptop to a desktop just for the ease and portability. The downsize thou, is screen size and having to add an additional monitor… until now. This laptop was up and running in just a few minutes and the built in dual monitor is a game changer! Not only can this be used to extend the display from the laptop, it can also duplicate the screen and fold behind the laptop monitor. This allows parties across from you to view the same thing as you without having to be slouched over the same small space.I have tried to show step by step the ease of setting this up and unboxing.I cannot rave about this enough. The days of having to use an add monitor are over! Definitely one of my favorites purchases so far.

Los tiempos de carga son prácticamente inexistentes, y la experiencia de juego es fluida, sin tirones ni caídas de FPS, incluso en juegos de mundo abierto o exigentes como Cyberpunk 2077 o Red Dead Redemption 2.Refrigeración eficiente: El sistema de ventilación es increíblemente eficaz. Después de largas sesiones de juego, la temperatura se mantiene estable y los ventiladores apenas se oyen. Bonjour à tous alors ici dans ce commentaire je vais expliqué pourquoi cette hausse soudaine de prix. J’ai acheté ce pc au prix de 495€ qui je trouvais être un bon rapport qualité, mais j’ai analysé les commentaires et j’ai vus que des problème d’écrans notamment des clignotements de ceux-ci arrivait souvent, j’avais ma petite idée du pourquoi. Donc j’achète ce pc on connaissance de cause et comme de faite après réception je test le pc d’abord je l’utilise directement sans charger la batterie et la vide en l’utilisant normalement comme tout le monde, pas de mo rage vidéo de gros calcul surchargent le processeur, la batterie ce vide et à 5% arrive ce que je pensais, je branché le chargeur et directement l’écran commence à clignoter j’en déduit donc que la charge et mal gérer. Donc pour moi cela vient d’un manque mémoire pouvant être gérer avec Windows pro mais pas avec un Windows familiale. Donc he préviens la société qui vend les pc et elle me propose à titre de dommage un montant de 20€, mais ma demande ce portait surtout sur l’augmenta de la mémoire,donc je demande si je p3ux effectuer l’opération moi même ou si je dois renvoyer le pc pour éviter de perdre la garantie. On me répond alors que cela n’est pas possible car le pc ne le permet pas donc mon analyse me dis que les mémoires sont soudées sur la carte mère ce qui n’est mentionné nulle part dans le détaillé de la machine.donc je donne aucune suite à leur demande et je fais de mon côté mes petits trucs à moi et je décide ceci. J’analyse le pc avec différents logiciel et m’aperçois que la mémoire n’est pas très bien géré par Windows familiale en tout cas moins bien qu’un Windows pro 64 et que surtout aussi aucun driver de la carte graphique n’est présent c’est même moi qui leur apprends apparemment le modèle de carte graphique suite à mes analysé. Donc j’installe en 1er Windows pro 64 licence acheté 25€ après installation déjà moins de clignotements d’écrans en moins, ensuite installation des drivers de la carte graphique adrénaline directement pris chez amd tout reviens en ordre après tout sa donc je préviens la société et leur propose de faire certaines manipulations 1vant de vendre la machine. Immédiatement après tout sa plus de nouvelle de la société et quelques jours plus tard je vois une augmentation de prix que je trouve assez lourde et pas correct vis à vis du client lambda. Voilà tout ceci pour vous prévenir de ce genre de soucis avec votre pc attention toute fois ceci n’est pas une science exacte sa a fonctionné pour moi ne fonctionnera peut-être pas pour vous. Voilà bonne soirée et désolé pour ce long blabla.

Je suis vraiment satisfait de mon achat :Un processeur Ryzen 7 et 16Go de ram ddr4 a ce prix : c’est une trés bonne affaire. Le disque dur de 512Go ssd, pour mon utilisation, suffit largement. Et pour ceux qui trouverons cela trop petit: il suffit de brancher un bon disque dur externe en usb c ou en usb 3.2… Ce ne sont pas les ports qui manquent.La carte Graphique intégrée: Radeon vega 8, fait tourner les jeux récents sans problémes (bien sur, sans mettre les réglages de qualité au max.)Le pc dans son ensemble, ne surchauffe pas. Et le ventilateur du système de refroidissement se fait un peu entendre lorsque cela est utile. Mais il est peu bruyant.L’écran lui… est juste au top! 🙂 Je dirais même : impressionant pour le prix!Le boitier est trés beau. Il semble solide et les finitions sont parfaites.Une autre bonne surprise: le son. Un son surprenant, qui est de trés bonne qualité pour un pc portable. A moins de rechercher plus de puissance, pas besoin d’enceintes supplémentaires.Dans mon cas: le service client est a l’écoute. J’avais une question: il m’ont répondu.J’ai hésité avant de l’acheter. A cause de certains commentaires négatifs. Mais au final, je suis ravi et je recommande cet achat.
