Great value
Not much to say, it’s a goPro 𤩠The case is hard and compact. It brings only two batteries in total.

Can not be activated to operate
I spent a great deal of time with the GOPRO online people to resolve my issue that this camera would not work. They were very helpful but it did not change anything. You have to activate it by using your phone Of course this makes no sense but the geeks are now obsessed with phones. I do not want to use my phone at all with this camera. I want to download to my Computer and edit and store in it.Basically I was told my I Phone was too old (it is about 2-3 years old) for their technology and that I would have to buy a new phone for it to work. I don’t want to go out and buy an expensive new phone- particularly to set up a camera that I will never use on a phone.Could not charge it either. It is a USB-C. I have an adapter for this but it would not work (does for all my other cameras, golf distance and phone). So I was told you have to buy a new adapter. When I asked specifically what type of adapter so that I did not waste my money they were clueless and could not answer. They referred me to their own product but it was $70.They finally admitted they could not help. and that unless I wanted to go out and spend a bunch of additional money the camera was useless. Thanks, but no thanks.

Dismal battery life – no support
Bought the bundle with two batteries. None of them lasted even an hour of recording. I’ve tried to contact support but could not get a response.Other than that, I do not see much improvement with respect to previous models; the subscription service seems to be useless; and the camera comes with no charger.I’ve had GoPros for more than ten years. I am returning this one and switching to another brand.

GoPro HERO13 bundle
Have the Hero 8, was thinking about the Hero 12 but they removed GPS. When the Hero 13 was released, it seemed compelling with the interchangeable lenses, and the magnetic power attachment, and return of onboard GPS. Bought mine from another retailer for less on Black Friday. Shout out to Kirk. The “bundle” is the same, except with much larger SD card and no floating handle. You can also buy direct from GoPro and get a free year of their cloud service.A couple of minor annoyances when you FIRST turn it on..- Have to update the firmware first. I recommend manually downloading it from the GoPro site and sideloading it with the microSD card. Trying to update the firmware with the Quick app is awful. Just read the other reviews as evidence.- You can’t change preferences or settings with USB power only. A battery and microSD card must be inserted. Once you set everything up, you can run on USB power without the battery/card inserted. The camera itself is awesome. Quality is great. Also neat that it connects to Bluetooth microphones. It’s just a shame they make you buy the media mod to get video output. Would be great to connect a USB-C to HDMI cable. But oh well. Also happy to see these have regular 1/4″ thread camera mounts. Now I can use the various mounts and tripods I have for my regular cameras. It runs pretty warm, but this will vary by the length of your recordings and your capture settings. If you’re just posting videos to your social media, then 4K won’t make much difference. You’re better off with HD and lower bit rate to keep things cool.Overall, neat camera for those that prefer something more durable and more compact than a smartphone.

The camera is good BUT..
My review is for the seller marketing. The camera is great, but the price from the seller today 11/17/24 is a complete lie! The seller says it’s marked down for Black Friday from $450 to $350. It was the same price 4 months ago when I bought mine. I don’t like those lying marketing strategies! If you’re going to discount a product, do it for real!
