Raspberry Pi introduces a new compact and high-quality affordable desktop solutions to elevate tech accessibility.
Raspberry Pi has launched the ‘Raspberry Pi 500’ a refined personal computer (PC) and ‘Raspberry Pi Monitor’ a high-quality display, offering a complete desktop solution. Developed by the company’s team, these products aim to enhance tech accessibility with advanced performance and sleek designs.
The newly introduced PC is built on its predecessor, the Raspberry Pi 400, by incorporating the powerful Raspberry Pi 5 platform. It features a 2.4GHz quad-core Cortex-A76 processor, 8GB LPDDR4X RAM, and VideoCore VII GPU supporting dual 4Kp60 HDMI outputs. Other highlights include Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, and multiple USB ports, making it a versatile compact PC. Priced at $90, the package includes a 32GB SD card, and a $120 desktop kit adds peripherals like a mouse, power supply, and beginner’s guide.
Designed for educators, students, and tech enthusiasts, the PC caters to those seeking a cost-effective yet capable computing solution. Its plug-and-play design also makes it an attractive choice for beginners or workplaces needing a reliable system. “Our original goal was to put programmable computers in young hands, and this remains our driving force,” the team shared. Over the years, this mission has inspired innovative designs like the all-in-one Raspberry Pi 400 and its newly launched successor.
Complementing the keyboard is the newly introduced Raspberry Pi Monitor. This 15.6-inch full HD IPS display offers a 45% color gamut, 80° viewing angle, and integrated 1.2W speakers. Designed for seamless compatibility, it features VESA mounting points and a foldable stand. Users can power it via a USB-C cable, and cost-conscious setups can leverage power directly from a Raspberry Pi. This monitor, priced at $100, caters to both budget-conscious users and those seeking a high-quality display.
These new launches underline the company’s dedication to bridging technology gaps while maintaining affordability and versatility.
With the PC and display, the company continues to champion accessible computing, promising innovative use cases across education, workplaces, and creative pursuits.
