Bought Three – Replaced 3 Fire Tablets
So as any terrible parent these days … I’ve gotten my kids hooked on a “device”.Multiply by 3 kids – and got them each fire tablets throughout the multiple years of Prime Days and Black Friday sales. Mainly because it got the job done and being such great value – I could care less if they dropped it and broke them.Fast forward to now Ages 11, 9 and 5.. All 3 complained about:- How slow it was playing Roblox- How their preferred drawing app didnt work well or refused to startup at all- How everything crashes using Google ClassroomMind you.. I may or may not have side loaded the playstore so non of these tablets were “locked” into the Amazon app store ecosystem.Well Prime Day rolled around and I saw these Tablets on deal – replaced all 3 and all the above complaints went away and I didnt have to Side load anything!I have really 1 issue – which is – Samsung makes you sign up / in for their account eco system. Not a huuuuge issue as I already had a samsung account – but annoying if you’re a first timer and hate having to create accounts. My goals for this purchase is hopefully thiis hardware lasts the next 3 years for when the oldest goes to High School. From there will determine if she needs something beefier for the next milestone of academia (or hopefully not).Pros- Snappy and Fast response- All apps the kids use works perfectly and much snappier than their experience previously. Apps list: Roblox, Discord, IXL, Epic, HiPaint, Minecraft, Cookie Run Kingdom (thisone is huuuuge on the space it takes)- No more whiny complains on slow, locked up and outright crashes on multiple apps from the kids.So its meets my picky kids expectations – it should meet everyone elses =)

Great for home assistant dashboards
This is a great tablet to hang on the wall for a smart home dashboard. It’s snappy, never lags, and has a great screen. It also looks great and has a premium feel, unlike Fire devices. I liked it so much I ended up buying another to keep on the elliptical to consume media while exercising. Android has come a long way in device setup. Scan a QR code with a device you’re already signed in on and it does the rest, quickly. We’ve also come a long way in terms of bloat. Yeah, there are a few needless apps, but it’s not bad now and most can be deleted or disabled. Unless you’re doing something intense on a tablet, you don’t need anything more than this. It’s nearly the perfect budget tablet.

OK For The Price
I got the 128 model on the Amazon sale a few days ago. The only reason I bought it was for traveling because I did not want to drag around my 2022 IPad Air and possibly lose, or mess up, a 500.00 tablet. So……like the headline states……it’s OK for the price. Not the retail price, but the sale price. Last year I bought the Fire 11 for the same reason, travel, but ended up returning it after a few days due to a price drop and Amazon refusing to offer a price match discount. Along those lines………..I tried my best and spoke to numerous people over an 8 month period but Amazon refused to return or credit the 70 or so I received from trading in two cheaper Amazon tablets when I bought the 11. I have been informed, over and over again by Customer Service, you lose the trade-in on a return. Now, I cannot find this ANYWHERE in the trade-in policy. But there it is so be forewarned.I would say both the tablets are very similar, with a slight edge maybe to the Samsung with the 8GB vs 4GB on the Fire. Neither are as smooth as the Air, but that is where the price difference comes in. When I bought this I believe the Fire was 199 and the A9+ was 209. For an additional 4GB of memory 10 bucks is good for me. Plus, I had no more available trade-ins for the 20% discount. As for the tablet itself….. The sound is fine, picture is fine, and I really prefer Google Apps as they just seem to have more of what I want. I imagine build quality is similar. Now for the apps…….Prime video was loaded, along with Peacock, Disney, MGM, HBO/Max, Paramount……all my streaming services with one glaring, if not unexpected, exception. Apple+ TV. I found an ITunes app, but no TV app. Maybe the Fire has it, I don’t know.I also loaded Samsung SmartSwitch which allowed me to sync info from my IPhone. No issues, worked well although it did take a minute using wireless connectivity. The tablet did not come with a plug as has been noted many times. I guess, you know, is it a big deal if you have other electronics? No. But if this was your only one…….I mean, really? Is that plug really saving all that much money off the list price? Some of these things the corporations do nowadays just seem silly/greedy.As far as charging goes, this seemed to be another hot topic. So, using an Apple 20W Fast Charger, the tablet went from 13% to 100% in about 2 1/2 hours. If I went USB-C only I would guess more than double that time would be required. I did make sure Fast Charge was on in the tablet…..it shipped that way.The battery did seem to wear down rather quickly, but not fast enough to return the tablet. The phone transfer was about 30 minutes, and all I did other than that was load Apps and change some settings for a few hours. This took me from 50 to 13%. How that compares to my Air, no idea. But it is acceptable. One thing I do not like…..and maybe I just need to try a bit harder…..I cannot figure out how to get Auto Blocker turned on. It’s right there in Settings, but greyed out as is two other advanced settings below it. I just keep seeing a spiral up top right like something is trying to load. Only thing I can figure out is if you have free apps loaded you cannot block the pop-ups or whatever.Wi-Fi hooked up right away so I did not bother trying my phones Hot Spot. Other than that, I see no issues with this tablet. At the right price, of course!

Great Tablet Great Price
This is a great little tablet unless you are an ultra gamer or a person who has incredibly difficult demands for a work device this tablet pretty much covers everyone else it has a decent amount of storage space plus it has an SD card slot a very nice screen that has both great resolution and good size. I highly recommend it it is easy to set up and runs any application effortlessly. I love mine and at the price it’s a steal. You can spend 12 to $1,400 and get the top of the line Samsung or even more for an Apple device or you can spend $217 and get this great little tablet which is really a fantastic Buy! I highly recommend it you won’t be disappointed.
