With high integration, advanced diagnostics, and support for harsh environments, these ICs simplify design while enhancing performance and efficiency.

As the automotive industry evolves, features once considered premium are becoming standard, driving the need for innovative solutions. Infineon Technologies addresses this demand with the new MOTIX Bridge BTM90xx family, a full-bridge/H-bridge integrated circuits (ICs) designed specifically for brushed DC motor applications.
The family enhances the company’s MOTIX low-voltage motor control IC portfolio, offering solutions that range from driver ICs to highly integrated system-on-chip (SoC) designs. These ICs, including door, mirror, seat, body, and zone control modules, are tailored for automotive applications. Their robust design ensures high reliability under harsh conditions, with accompanying safety documentation enabling use in critical safety applications.

Key Features and Benefits
- Wide Voltage Range: Operates seamlessly within 7 V to 18 V (extended range: 4.5 V to 40 V).
- Advanced Protection: Integrated diagnostics for overtemperature, undervoltage, overcurrent, cross-current, and short-circuit detection.
- High Current Capability: Supports currents up to 10 A (BTM901x) or 20 A (BTM902x), making it suitable for demanding automotive tasks.
- PWM Support: Operates at frequencies up to 20 kHz for precise motor control.
- Compact Design: Packaged in a tiny TSDSO-14 (4.9 x 6.0 mm) with a large exposed pad for improved thermal performance.
- Cost-Effective Integration: SPI variants (BTM9011EP, BTM9021EP) offer pin-saving daisy chain functionality, with the BTM9021 featuring an integrated watchdog.
The company offers extensive support resources to streamline design and evaluation processes. These include detailed technical documentation, simulation models, power dissipation calculation tools, and evaluation boards. Arduino-compatible example code and free software tools, such as the MOTIX Device Driver and the Full Bridge IC Configuration Wizard, are accessible through the Infineon Developer Center (IDC). The MOTIX BTM90xx ICs—comprising models BTM9010EP, BTM9011EP, BTM9020EP, and BTM9021EP—are now available.
