Allegro MicroSystems, Inc. has launched two advanced current sensor ICs—the ACS37030MY and ACS37220MZ—designed to deliver superior performance across automotive, industrial, and consumer applications. These new ICs leverage Allegro’s state-of-the-art sensing technology to offer low internal conductor resistance, high bandwidth, and robust reliability.

Both sensor ICs are engineered for precise current measurement in a compact, durable package. Their wide-body design provides enhanced isolation while reducing the overall footprint by 40% compared to conventional 16-pin packages. The lower resistance design minimizes power dissipation, improving efficiency.

Ultra-Fast Response for Wide Bandgap Applications

The ACS37030MY is a fully integrated current sensor IC that delivers the industry’s fastest response time, making it ideal for protecting wide bandgap GaN power devices. It utilizes both Hall-effect and inductive coil sensing to measure current across a broad frequency range. This innovative approach results in a product that is 5x faster than existing solutions while maintaining a 40% smaller footprint. It is also available in a narrow-body package for applications with lower isolation requirements.

High-Bandwidth, Cost-Effective Current Sensing

The ACS37220MZ is a fully integrated Hall-effect current sensor with 150 kHz bandwidth and a fault pin, making it a powerful yet cost-effective successor to Allegro’s popular ACS724/5 family. With its new, compact package, it offers a 40% reduction in size and lower resistance, minimizing power loss in high-efficiency applications.
