Need power for tough applications? This 500W DC/DC converter supports scaling up to 3 kW and has built-in protections. See more!

GAIA Converter has introduced a new model in its MGDM-500 series of 500-Watt isolated DC/DC converters. Engineers and system integrators in aerospace, defense, industrial, and naval sectors can use these converters for reliable power conversion. They are suited for professionals working on military aircraft, drones, radars, avionics, and other high-reliability applications that require efficient and scalable power solutions. The product offers flexibility, easier integration, and optimized performance.
The series includes 500W military-grade isolated DC/DC converters with a wide input voltage range and output options from 12V to 48V DC. It operates at a fixed frequency using a forward topology with magnetic feedback for higher reliability. With a double interleaved forward design, it offers excellent noise performance without complex logic circuitry.

Key features include output voltage trimming with a single low-power resistor and adjustable switching frequency to avoid radar interference or sync with other converters. Built-in protections include soft-start for inrush current control, overload and short-circuit protection, and over-temperature shutdown. Housed in a fully potted metallic half-brick case, it operates reliably in temperatures from -40 to 105°C.
The MGDM-500/P model converts input voltages of 9–40 VDC or 16–80 VDC into 12V, 15V, 24V, and 28V outputs, delivering up to 500W with efficiency exceeding 91%. A parallel option with droop control allows load sharing across up to six modules, reaching 3 kW while maintaining efficiency and reliability. Its scalable power architecture requires only a single low-power sense resistor, simplifying integration and reducing costs.
Some of the key features of the MGDM-500 series of 500-Watt isolated DC/DC converters include:
- Supports 12V, 15V, 24V, and 28V outputs, expandable up to 3 kW with six modules.
- Enables automatic power distribution.
- Requires only one small resistor.
The MGDM-500/P provides a flexible and scalable solution for high-reliability applications, including military and aerospace systems, ground-based and naval operations, avionics, surveillance drones, radars, flight recorders, night vision systems, and intelligent weaponry.
