GOEPEL electronic introduces the Multi Line Assist, a new AOI module designed to streamline the THT (Through-Hole Technology) assembly process and identify real-time errors. Despite advancements in automation, manual work remains essential for assembling PCBs with THT components, particularly for small batches and custom designs. Multi Line Assist provides step-by-step guidance and real-time inspection to ensure accuracy before soldering.

The workstation projects placement information directly onto the operator’s workspace, enabling precise assembly. After each placement, the system checks for errors using integrated PILOT software, which detects deviations and highlights them through a projected marking.

A laser projector assists with manual placement by displaying information such as chute, position, and component type directly in the operator’s field of vision. This helps minimise errors and ensures consistent results across different product variants. The projector also highlights detected errors for immediate correction. This feature supports operators in environments with frequent product changes or new personnel.

The system checks for correct component placement, polarity, labelling, and defects during inspection. A foot switch allows users to start or repeat inspections efficiently. Multi Line Assist can be integrated into existing assembly tables or used with an optional height-adjustable placement table. It is also compatible with MES systems for seamless traceability.

Multi Line Assist is designed to support various production processes as part of the Multi Line product family. The platform combines modular hardware with standardised software, reducing training time and optimising workforce deployment.
