Supporting both Linux and RTOS simultaneously, it offers balance of flexibility, responsiveness, and robust connectivity for smart automation, smart buildings, and next-gen embedded systems.

The NuMicro MA35D1 is Nuvoton Technology’s latest high-performance dual-core microprocessor, built on the Arm Cortex-A35 architecture. Engineered for demanding real-time and multitasking environments, it supports both Linux and RTOS operating systems running simultaneously, enabling the perfect balance between flexibility and real-time responsiveness.
It has instant boot-up in under one second, rapid data acquisition, and dynamic display updates—demonstrating its power in industrial and AIoT applications. Linux provides robust networking, multimedia support, and extensive development tools, while RTOS ensures deterministic performance for time-sensitive tasks. This hybrid OS approach delivers reliable real-time control alongside feature-rich system management, making it ideal for smart buildings, factory automation, and connected appliances.

The key features include:
- Dual OS Capability: Concurrent operation of Linux and RTOS for optimized system performance.
- Fast Boot: Achieves operational readiness in just one second—essential for mission-critical systems.
- Real-Time Data Handling: Supports immediate sensor input processing and fast LCD updates.
- Smooth UI: Utilizes Qt for MCUs to deliver responsive and visually appealing user interfaces.
- Smart Connectivity: Built-in web server enables real-time monitoring and remote control of devices.
It is powered by a dual-core 64-bit Arm Cortex-A35 running at 800 MHz, alongside a Cortex-M4 core dedicated to real-time processing. It supports up to 512 MB of DDR SDRAM through a multi-chip package (MCP), providing ample memory for demanding applications. For enhanced security, the chip integrates the company’s Trusted Secure Island (TSI), ensuring strong protection for sensitive data and operations. Multimedia capabilities include a built-in JPEG/H.264 decoder and support for high-resolution TFT-LCD displays up to 1080p, delivering rich visual output. In terms of connectivity, it offers robust options with two Gigabit Ethernet ports, high-speed USB, SDIO 3.0, four CAN FD interfaces, and 16 UART channels—making it a highly adaptable platform for a wide range of industrial and smart system applications.
This microprocessor is ideally suited for a wide range of advanced applications, including edge gateways that require secure and efficient data processing at the network edge. It also supports Tiny AI and machine learning tasks, enabling intelligent decision-making in resource-constrained environments. Its capabilities make it an excellent choice for Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI) and industrial control systems, where responsive interaction and real-time performance are critical. Additionally, it is well-suited for new energy applications, supporting smart energy management and sustainable technology solutions.
