Ugh, it’s so good.
The stock OS is fine, and it does work nicely (though the pixel scaling is off for GBA titles). I installed MuOS and it is an amazing device right now. I take it with me everywhere in my pocket just in case I get a few minutes here and there to play a game.Being able to use an OS with a sleep timer is great too. The stock device allows for putting to sleep and waking resume, but MuOS allows for the sleep timer. This way, if I close the lid and it sits there for 10 minutes, it’ll turn off to save battery and then I just need to boot it back up (10-12 seconds) and it pops me right back into my game.

Everything Included
I own all the ones I’m playing and even have the original systems, but how expensive those are as “collectible” items makes me scared to hand them over to my kids, haha. This is a much more reasonable alternative to show my kids my old favorites and play them again myself.Was surprised at everything included! I bought an additional memory card with plans to wipe the OS, but ended up leaving it and just throwing some romhacks onto the second SD card so I could pull it in and out as needed to add new ones. Just plugged in the blank microsd I bought to the second slot, let the machine run, then took it out and the folder structure was all there.So far so good! Bright screen, a lot of options for configuration, and I’m playing some of my favorite old games plus new ones people have built with the pieces. Ordering a couple more for my kids and husband so we can play together 🙂

Not as advertised
1. Uses one emulator per game category which limits functionality of externally loaded games.2. No usable instructions.3. No GB, GBA or GBC games preloaded.4. You have to convert game files.5. NO games I loaded from any system worked on this device.

Pretty Nice, Brings back the GameBoy feel plus some of the older games.
Definitely going to need to know at least the basic Linux file structure. Roms are hidden (not too bad). Like the second MicroSD Card slot.

Don’t listen to the haters: this handheld is a solid quality product. I love that it folds so I can take it with me anywhere.Stock firmware works great on its own if you know what your doing. Comes preloaded with tons of games that looks great on a backlit screen (as opposed to the original SPs Frontline screen). A great item for the price!

No GB, GBC, or GBA games?
I was pretty excited for this. I loved my old GBA SP and this instantly game me the nostalgia. Felt great in hand and just what I hoped forâ¦. Until I booted it up and there was no Gameboy, Gameboy Color, or Gameboy Advanced games available. Maybe I just got unlucky, but those were the biggest reasons for this purchase and for them to not be here just makes me unhappy so this is likely being sent back unfortunately.2 star review for me because while it feels nice in my hands, it just didnât deliver on what I was hoping for from reviews Iâd seen online. Better luck next time I suppose.

Cool device but doesnât have the games preinstalled
This device is cool and I will use it but I was excited to play games on the stock version and it doesnât have any of the games that have been advertised. I really wanted to play original gameboy games but there are no preinstalled files. You will probably have to get a micro as card reader and install the game roms yourself which is a whole other can of worms thatâs a pain to learn.
