Works great!
Bought it as a spare HR monitor for Zwift rides in the garage. Paired quickly, seems to be on par with the Garmin 935 watch on my wrist, and it’s way more comfortable than the chest strap I use on outdoor rides. Highly recommend this!

Light, easy to use, and connects with my Garmin watch.
My last HRM – a Garmin Dual chest HRM quit functioning so I thought I would try an alternative. So far so good – after about 1 month.1. Loved the price.2. Connecting was simple, the same as with a Garmin monitor.3. Light – if I didn’t see it I wouldn’t know that I was wearing it.4. 24-hour battery life is great – No need to charge frequently.5. Stays in place on my forearm when doing jumping jacks and jumping rope. The chest HRM tended to slide down during these exercises. The only issue I had was remembering to turn the device on and off for each use.

Good Bang for Your Buck for Peloton!
My expectations were guarded as the reviews for this product were a bit all over the place. I wanted to get this to connect to my Peloton to get the ‘strive score’. It connect immediately and super easily, also connected easily to the peloton app on my phone for non bike workouts. It is very accurate for heart rate, I compared it to my fit bit watch and it’s spot on- if not seems to be more accurate to the level of activity I’m doing. I charge it once a week but I think it could go much longer than that. Be warned that any band like this takes some getting used to (comfort-wise) as bands like this work best if they are tight so the sensor stays in the same location. I do think the quality of the band is fine, probably similar elastic to any band like this. I had zero issues with this product, it was well worth it for the affordable price!

UPDATE: Unit died in only 40 days
This is WAS my go-to HRM for cycling – for a mere 40 days before it started to malfunction. It is now unusable. It is fully charged and will only stay powered on for less than 1 minute before shutting down. This started happening without any damage to the unit (never taken into water even though it’s IPX 68, and have never dropped or hit it against anything). If I can still return through Amazon I will.I also initially had some connectivity drops broadcasting to my Garmin Edge 1040 on ANT+. Apparently it’s an issue with occasional malformed data, which Garmin alleges needs to be corrected on the HRM side. Well, long story short, I abandoned the ANT+ connection and switched to BLE and it was rock solid. Not nearly as many drops as previous, but I would still occasionally get signal drops requiring me to reboot the HRM. I’m not sure if this was an issue with the HRM or on my Garmin Edge. The newest firmware update allows for three simultaneous BLE connections, so no issues with using this as the primary method.I’m thinking this might be the reason why the unit is only $30 now.

Works well
Iâve used this brand for years. It pairs well with my peloton bike and stays on while lifting weights. Itâs comfortable enough that I rarely notice Iâm wearing it. This newer version sometimes comes unclasped which was never an issue with the first version I had.

Scosche Customer Service GREAT, Product not so much
This was my experience. Yours might be different. I had the first version of this product for a couple of years and it worked very well for me. I decided to ‘upgrade’ to this version. The first R 2.0 I received paired quickly and easily with my Peloton, but it had wildly erratic readings. I’ve been using HR monitors for ten years and knew it was monitor, not user, error. I called Scosche CS after useless initial email response. Big shout out to phone CS from Scosche rep: I had a kind acknowledgement of my disappointment and a new unit in a day or two. I’ve given the replacement R 2.0 a month now and FOR ME the R 2.0 is unsatisfactory. It requires me to have absolutely precise placement: a millimeter too low or too high or too much to one side and readings begin to drop, and drop. If I sweat or move my arm and the band shifts around, just a little, the readings fall. And they fall A LOT (I periodically check the R 2.0 reading against my Galaxy Watch5.) The whole point of having an HR monitor that sends readings to my bike screen is so I can easily access reasonably accurate HR and push harder or pull back as necessary. The first unit was a dud and the replacement is simply too finicky. Scosche can and should do much better than this. Though their CS is terrific it can’t make up for a mediocre product. Sadly, I’m on the hunt now for another product, by another brand. I gave this review 3 Stars, one of which was earned by excellent customer service on the phone. The first unit would have gotten 1 Star and its replacement 2 Stars.

Works accurately with my pacemaker
I tried another brand, but it didn’t properly measure my heart rate. This appears to work perfectly.

Beat it.
Absolutely killer deal on a incredibly well-designed and executed unit. I highly recommend this over anything else

Another edit after several months of use. I experimented with several positions on my arm and found my inner forearm the best for measurement. I am more impressed with this device than I expected. This is an edit to my original review and I think itâs important because I want to be fair. After more use I think this device is better than I originally suggested. It can give you a relatively accurate HR. I find that it doesnât adjust as quickly as a chest strap to changes in pace. The real issue seems to be how far it can transmit. If you are using it for treadmill running, outdoor running or riding you bike with a stem mounted display, I think it will be just fine. When I am using it for indoor cycling training I find the bluetooth and ANT signal does not transmit far so I need to keep my laptop/tablet much closer than I normally would. I use an HRM every day and I have been using them for many years. For accuracy I prefer a chest strap. I am for recovering from heart surgery and the strap is super uncomfortable. I have a couple of garmin watches with HR but I know they are inaccurate. I watched some reviews of this product and thought I would give it a try. The ant+ comms is really bad. You have to be right on top of your antenna for it to work. Bluetooth is better but the data is inaccurate at least half the time. It is inexpensive and comfortable but if you need accurate hr data itâs not good enough.

I love this product. I use it for all of my workouts. It works really well. Unfortunately it now has stopped working, and won’t accept a charge.
