Cute as can be
These plates and napkins were just the thing I needed for my dessert servings at Christmas. Also fun for giving a little sweets as a gift. The plates are not as big as I thought they would be so be careful there. They made a great vintage addition to my vintage decor. If you’re like me and don’t want to add to washing your dinner china, get these for dessert. Adorable!

Super thin. More useful as a decoration than an actual plate
Bought this for s Christmas get together and Im very disappointed. The plates are pretty but are so thin and flimsy that it will not be feasible to use them.My loss but my review is your gain.

Disappointed
I do like the images, very much. They are quite cute and very vintage. They are clearly copies of old Christmas cards. And some of them are images that I have never seen before now.However, these plates and napkins have some serious problems. Firstly, the 9 inch plate is only 8 and 3/4 inch. That missing 1/4 inch makes a big difference considering that the usable surface of the plate is only 6 1/2 inches. Not that it matters too much, seeing as how the plates are far too thin for placing food on them. Think of those really thin traditional white paper plates. You know, the ones that you need about six of them stacked to have a sturdy enough plate to use? Yeah, about like that. Only, since there are just twenty plates, stacking is not an option for 20 guest.In the reviews, there does seem to be some confusion about the napkins. I too was confused. The images in the pictures online lead you to believe that there are four different images on seperate napkins. That is what is so misleading. In fact, all four images are on one napkin and, unless you are throwing a Christmas party for a teacher, you may need to turn them inside out to get a more Christmas theme than a classroom theme. It is easy to do with a simple flip and refold, but frustrating that it must be done at all. And this still does not get rid of the teacher theme entirely. It’s still there and will be discovered the moment someone actually uses the napkins. And now for the worst part…The petrol chemical smell. Usually when someone makes this complaint, I ignore it. “It’s a shower curtain, faux plastic plants, etc. What do you expect from plastic products?” But this time, I must stand in agreement over the complaints of this. These plates are objects that we are going to be eating from. And that is very disconcerting and quite concerning. A simple, “let it air out a few days” may not be the answer. Why is a petroleum chemical on these paper plates? Perhaps it is not dangerous, I don’t know. And that’s the problem, I don’t know. The chemical was so strong, that the taste of it is still in my mouth and on my lips and it has even caused an odd numbness at the back of my tongue. Very unpleasant. And no, this is not from eating out of this plate, this is simply from opening the package.I’m not sure what to do, but I question the wisdom in letting anyone eat from these. If anything, I can say I do not recommend these plates for their intended purpose. Perhaps you could use them for crafting or some kind of decor, but I will not recommend due to the possible danger of using them for their expected reason. I will try to avoid ordering paper products for food from this company in the future, and strongly suggest that you do the same.
