Offers 35 W power dissipation, 30% higher pulse energy absorption, and reliable operation , ideal for demanding automotive, industrial, and high-energy applications.

Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. has expanded its D2TO35 series of surface-mount thick film power resistors with a new high-performance model: the D2TO35H. Qualified to AEC-Q200 standards, this automotive-grade resistor is designed to deliver superior transient pulse handling and robust power performance.
Packaged in a TO-263 (D²PAK) case, it offers power dissipation of 35 W at a +25 °C case temperature and significantly boosts energy absorption capability—up to 15 J over 0.1 seconds. This marks a 30% increase in pulse energy handling compared to standard models, offering improved protection in circuits subjected to short, high-energy pulses.

The key features are:
- AEC-Q200 qualified
- Surface mounted resistor – TO-263 (D2PAK) style package
- Thermal resistance is rated at 4.28 °C/W
The resistor’s enhanced pulse protection ensures greater reliability and stability in demanding environments, making it ideal for automotive and industrial applications. With its higher performance, designers can reduce the number of components used, saving space, simplifying PCB layouts, and lowering overall costs.
Engineered for versatility, it operates in temperatures up to +175 °C and offers resistance values from 1 Ω to 14 kΩ with tight tolerances down to ±2%. . Applications span active discharge, precharge, and discharge systems in HEVs, EVs, and low-speed electric vehicles, as well as BMS, 48 V board nets, fuel cells, and onboard chargers. Additional uses include energy metering, industrial drives, power tools, agricultural machinery, and even military guidance systems.
The resistor is RoHS-compliant and features a non-inductive design, ensuring compatibility with reflow soldering up to 270 °C for 10 seconds. Samples and production quantities are available now, with standard lead times of 10 weeks.
