Ideal for both 12V and 24V system applications, it is suited for a variety of automotive and transportation domains, including advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), infotainment systems, instrument clusters, and body electronics and lighting.

NOVOSENSE Microelectronics has announced the European debut of four advanced CAN transceivers along with a new stepper motor driver. The NCA1043B is a high-speed CAN transceiver designed to serve as a robust interface between a CAN protocol controller and the physical two-wire CAN bus. Built for high-speed automotive applications, the NCA1043B delivers differential transmit and receive capabilities, making it ideal for use with microcontrollers that support the CAN protocol. With superior Electro Magnetic Compatibility (EMC) and Electro Static Discharge (ESD) protection, the transceiver ensures stable and reliable data communication even in electrically noisy environments.
The key features are:
- Supports 3V and 5V MCU I/O voltage levels
- TXD dominant timeout for fault prevention
- Bus dominant timeout to maintain network stability
- Low-power management with local/remote wake-up and source recognition
- Integrated protection features: short-circuit and battery connection detection
- CAN FD data rate up to 5 Mbps
- Low loop delay: <250 ns
Its low power consumption and passive behavior when power supplies are turned off make it particularly well-suited for CAN networks requiring continuous node availability, even when internal VIO and VCC supplies are inactive. The device is fully compliant with ISO11898-2 and SAE J2284-1 to SAE J2284-5 standards, supporting both 3V and 5V microcontroller interfaces. Its wide bus fault protection range of -58V to +58V ensures durability under harsh operating conditions. To enhance network reliability, the NCA1043B includes both transmit data (TXD) and bus dominant timeout functions, which prevent faulty states from persisting on the bus.
It also features an intelligent low-power management system that supports both local and remote wake-up events, with wake-up source recognition to enable power-efficient operations across vehicle subsystems. In addition to basic transceiver functionality, the NCA1043B incorporates advanced diagnostic and protection features such as bus line short-circuit and battery connection detection. It supports CAN FD data rates up to 5 Mbps and maintains a low loop delay of less than 250 ns, ensuring fast and accurate data transmission. Designed for extreme automotive environments, it operates across a wide temperature range from -40℃ to 125℃. The device is AEC-Q100 qualified, ensuring its reliability in demanding automotive use cases, and is available in RoHS-compliant SOP14 and DFN14 packages.
