Saves board space with optional NTC thermistor and pre-applied PC-TIM and ideal for automotive, industrial, and AMS applications, it handles high energy pulses and supports voltages up to 1500 V.

Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. has announced the release of its new AEC-Q200 qualified thick film power resistor, the ISOA200. Designed in a compact SOT-227B package for heatsink mounting, this advanced device offers high pulse energy handling and robust power dissipation up to 200 W at 80 °C, making it ideal for demanding automotive, industrial, and AMS (avionics, military, space) applications.
The ISOA200 stands out with its integrated features that streamline design and assembly. It’s available with an optional built-in NTC thermistor for internal temperature monitoring, and pre-applied Phase Change Thermal Interface Material (PC-TIM) that simplifies mounting and enhances thermal management. This combination helps engineers reduce board space, lower system complexity, and save on additional components.

The key specifications include:
- Resistance range: 10 Ω to 1 MΩ
- Tolerance options: ±5% and ±10%
- TCR (Temperature Coefficient of Resistance): ±100 ppm/K and ±150 ppm/K
- Maximum operating voltage: 1500 V
- Operating temperature range: -55 °C to +150 °C
- Dielectric strength: 4000 Vrms
- Non-inductive design for EMI-sensitive applications
Engineered on an exposed alumina substrate rather than a metal tab, the ISOA200 offers a cost-effective and lightweight solution. It is designed to perform as a precharge, discharge, active discharge, or snubber resistor. The device handles high energy pulses—up to 140 J for 0.1 seconds—and is tested for multi-pulse reliability. Additional custom testing options are also available to meet specific design requirements.
