Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. has introduced a high-precision position sensor based on inductive technology for industrial and AMS applications. Unlike magnetic-based solutions, the Vishay MCB RAIK060 absolute inductive kit encoder features a slim 5 mm profile, a lightweight 15.5 g design, rotational speeds up to 10,000 rpm, and a low latency of ≤ 5 μs. It is also immune to magnetic interference, making it suitable for use near electric motors.
The position sensor is suitable for industrial automation companies in robotics, motor drives, and conveyor belt control, as well as automotive and aerospace manufacturers for actuator position control in drones, This sensor is suitable for robotics, motor drives, conveyor belt control, automated guided vehicles, and gimbal functionality in missile launchers and guidance systems. Custom variants can be designed for actuator position control in drones, commercial and regional aircraft, and eVTOLs. It also supports pitch and yaw control in wind turbines, wheel positioning in cleaning robots, and actuator control in telecom antennas, X-ray machines, and hospital beds.

The RAIK060 delivers >13-bit accuracy, 18-bit resolution, and ≥17-bit repeatability while resisting magnetic fields, moisture, pollution, vibration, mechanical shock, and temperature changes. Designed for hollow shaft mounting, it offers a 360° electrical angle and operates within a -40 °C to +105 °C range. It has a 60 mm outer diameter, 25 mm inner diameter, and supports multi-turn variants with SPI, SSI, or Biss-C output signals.
Setup is simplified with embedded self-calibration, eliminating external software. The device tolerates airgaps up to ±0.2 mm, includes LED status indicators for easier installation, and retains position memory after power-off. Built-in self-monitoring enhances safety.
