The module breaks the 23dBm limit with up to 30dBm power, boosting LTE-M and NB-IoT range for private networks, smart grids, and industrial IoT.

Ubiik has introduced the Maverick 220, a high-power LTE-M/NB-IoT module built for private LTE networks, utilities, and industrial IoT. This new module surpasses the industry’s 23dBm power limit by delivering up to 28dBm for LTE-M and 30dBm for NB-IoT (Power Class 1), significantly extending device range and reliability.
Most commercial LTE modules are limited to 23dBm (Power Class 3), which restricts uplink capability—often the key need for utilities and IoT systems. Maverick 220 aligns with 3GPP standards for Power Class 1 (28–31dBm), which is supported in frequency bands like B106 that are intended for private networks, public safety, and utilities.

The Maverick 220 is optimized for private LTE deployments operating on narrow bandwidths (1–5MHz) such as B54, B103, and B106. These networks often can’t fully utilize LTE-M’s coverage extension features due to limited spectrum. By focusing on power and uplink performance, Ubiik’s module helps these networks achieve greater coverage and reliability.
Some of the key features of the Maverick 220 include:
- Built specifically for utilities, enterprise, and industrial IoT.
- 28dBm transmit power for LTE-M – great for long-range, moderate bandwidth use.
- 30dBm transmit power for NB-IoT – ideal for reliable, low-power wide-area networks.
- Supports TDD LTE-M – works well with TDD bands like Band 54.
- Offers 5–7dB more power than typical LTE modules – increases range by over 50%.
- Works on license-free 902–928MHz LTE-M – perfect with Ubiik’s freeRAN Base Station.
- Great for smart grids, utilities, industrial systems, and remote IoT setups.
- Fully compatible with existing LTE-M and NB-IoT standards – adds more signal strength.
“Maverick 220 is the latest innovation in communications from Ubiik, redefining the limits of long-range LTE connectivity,” said TH Peng, CEO at Ubiik. “For too long, private LTE networks for utilities and IoT have been constrained by the 23dBm power limit imposed by traditional LTE modules. With Maverick 220, our goal was to eliminate that bottleneck for our customers, allowing IoT devices to transmit farther and more reliably than ever before.
