Brainchild Electronics have introduced the IA10 Multi-Function Indicator and Alarm Unit to meet the demands of industrial automation. This device combines data display, real-time calculations, alarm management, and industrial communication into one unit. The unit has an analog-to-digital converter and offers two displays with 5 digits and up to 4 decimal places, allowing it to capture small signal changes. An LCD backlight makes data visible and provides visual alerts on site. It has two input channels to support sensors. Channel 1 accepts temperature sensors such as thermocouples and resistance temperature detectors, as well as linear signals. Channel 2 is for linear signals and works for energy monitoring, equipment tracking, and environmental control. This dual-channel setup adds flexibility and makes the IA10 scalable for systems.

Beyond displaying data, the unit performs real-time arithmetic operations like addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division between inputs. Results can show on either display or be sent to devices such as PLCs or data loggers. It also has functions like forcing Channel 1 to show its maximum value or zero, and displaying zero when input falls below a threshold. These features provide adaptability for industrial uses.

For safety, the unit supports up to five alarm outputs and six event inputs. Each alarm output has a relay, allowing connection to warning lights, buzzers, or safety interlocks. This improves safety and response time in critical areas. The device also supports up to three analog retransmission outputs to send raw or calculated data to other devices for system integration. Built-in RS485 communication with Modbus RTU protocol ensures connection with PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems.
