The solutions for AI and hyperscale data centers, featuring the Cu-Wave, O-Wave, and Co-Wave portfolio with 800G and 1.6T PAM4 and Coherent-lite DSP technology.

Alphawave Semi has unveiled its latest portfolio of optoelectronics products targeting the expanding high-speed interconnect semiconductor market, projected to surpass $4 billion by 2028. The portfolio includes digital signal processors (DSPs) for PAM4 and emerging Coherent-lite modulation, designed to enable AI-driven, high-speed data transfer across hyperscale data center campuses.
These innovations leverage Alphawave Semi’s cutting-edge PAM4 SerDes, featuring its proprietary WidEye DSP architecture and EyeQ advanced diagnostics technology. The solutions support the accelerated AI infrastructure buildout of leading hyperscalers, offering 800G and 1.6T interconnects with electrical reach spanning meters and optical reach up to 20km.

The newly launched connectivity products, currently available for sampling, include:
- Cu-Wave PAM4 DSP – for Active Electrical Cables (AEC)
- O-Wave PAM4 DSP – for Optical Retimer and Gearbox Transceivers
- Co-Wave Coherent-lite DSP – for Optical Transceivers
Babak Samimi, SVP & GM, Connectivity Products Group, Alphawave Semi:“The industry is shifting with AI-driven data center campuses redefining compute infrastructure. To address this, we have advanced our PAM4 innovations and pioneered Coherent-lite DSPs, reinforcing our commitment to becoming a trusted supplier in the high-speed optoelectronics semiconductor market. Our team has harnessed high-speed SerDes, precision analog, SoC expertise, signal integrity management, and our proprietary WidEye and EyeQ™ technologies to support this transformation. Collaborating with a leading North American hyperscaler and key ecosystem partners, we look forward to deploying these solutions over the next year.”
Vladimir Kozlov, CEO, LightCounting:“With a strong foundation in high-speed SerDes and leading-edge process nodes, Alphawave’s market entry is poised to be highly disruptive. As distributed processing expands across data center campuses, the demand for PAM4 and Coherent-lite DSPs will grow, with the market expected to exceed $4 billion by 2028. Alphawave’s capability to provide both technologies positions it as a key player in this evolution.”
Tony Pialis, CEO, Alphawave Semi:“The launch of the Connectivity Products Group marks a strategic milestone, enabling us to serve hyperscalers in multiple ways—whether through IP subsystems, custom silicon, or off-the-shelf connectivity products. This reinforces our mission to be a semiconductor leader in AI connectivity and compute.”
