Product Description
【Charging While Playing】RuntoGOL VR link cable is compatible with Oculus Quest 2 & Quest 1, allowing you to play games and charge your headset simultaneously, achieving the 2-in-1 functionality of charging and playing. This sets it apart from other traditional and official Oculus link cables that support limited output when connected to a computer USB port for gameplay, leading to battery consumption issues when connected to a PC.
【3.0A Safety Charging】This link cable comes equipped with a separate charging port that provides a stronger output even during gameplay, allowing for extended playtime. An intelligent chip controls the current input, keeping the power within a safe range, protecting your Oculus Quest 2/1 and your computer from over-voltage, over-charging, and short-circuiting. This ensures safe usage and maximizes the battery life of your device.
【High Speed Transfer】Supporting USB 3.0 transfer speeds of up to 5 Gbps, this link cable allows for the smoothest and highest definition graphics, enabling you to experience your PC’s maximum rendering quality without any distortion. The included power adapter adds to the convenience, providing optimal charging performance without additional purchases needed.
【Flexible and Durable】The 16 ft long link cable provides maximum freedom of movement while immersed in the VR world with your Oculus. To enhance the user’s experience, the regular USB C port is specially designed in an L-shaped configuration, providing increased comfort when worn. The high-quality TPE material ensures the link cable can bend and flex freely without breaking, and each cable is tested for durability 1500 times to provide an extra-long service life.
【User-Friendly Design】The link cable has an intelligent LED indicator. When you connect the charging port to the outlet with the charger block and cable, the LED light will stay on all the time, indicating that your device stays connected and is charging. The included magic tape strap securely fastens the link cable and Quest2, providing added stability and preventing any unexpected disconnections while gaming.

So far so good
I got this for my nephew for Quest 2 so he can use his PC and get a higher 90hz refresh etc. It keeps the headset charged while he is playing and seems to work well so far. His PC doesnt have a usb c port but it had a 3.1 and it seems to work well with that. When setting up make sure to install the Oculus windows program first then you may have to unplug headset a few times to get it to recognize the port. Also make sure you pay attention to the display inside the headset as it will prompt you.

Slow charge
Works great if you don’t want to actually keep ur device charged while using it and you just want to watch the battery level slowly drop and get maybe another hour of playtime compared to the just using the battery alone

I had trouble keeping a charge while using and plugged it, then did not bother with it.
Maybe should rank lower because I had trouble keeping a charge while using and plugged it, then did not bother with it.

Best option for Quest link
I have used the quest 2 exclusively for pcvr and have used many different wired quest link alternatives and this is so far the best option for the price!!!

doesn’t do as advertised
I apologize for my very late post. Holding an 80% charge was advertised, and it doesn’t hold it. The company reached out to me themselves to see if the product was broken or damaged upon arrival. The company is based in China from the looks of it, but they were willing to send a replacement if the product was damaged. I’m not sure if they really would, though. I also questioned the durability of the device as well. The main point of failure would probably be the chip inside the rectangular container or the charger, since the build quality outside of those was fine. Its cable was very nice as well. I personally sent mine back because I didn’t want to risk having a product that lasts 3 months then dies. Not to say that it couldn’t last for years, I just didn’t want to risk it.To address the main issue (does it charge?) I’d like to quote the message sent to me by this company:ME:”If the card is supposed to keep the headset at 80% it doesn’t it loses power. The first time I used it It did work though. I lost 3% in a 4-5 hour gaming session. The other 2 times I used it it didn’t work.”ME:”Also will there be a red light when the chip is active?”Company:”Hi brandonWhen the battery level is above 80%, the smart chip will intelligently slow down the current input. The battery will gradually decrease by 0%-2% every half hour until it reaches around 80%, at which point it will stabilize. So when you play game when charging, it will loses power. In standby mode, the smart chip will enable a gradual battery level increase of approximately 15% every half hour. And the link cable will be a red light when the chip is active when the USB 3.0 and USB-C cable connect headset and power supply. Please look the attached PDF. If still not work, send your address and tel number, I will arrange a replacement to you.Sincerely, EricRuntoGOL Global Customer Service Center”When Eric spoke of “standby mode,” he was saying that while the headset is sitting on the desk, not being used, it charges 15% every 30 minutes. Also when I spoke of only losing 3-4% after 4-5 hour usage that was an estimate and It never happened twice. There was an inconsistency in its performance. I’ve forgotten to post this for such a long time, and I can say a normal link cable does the job just fine. This link cable charges much faster than a normal one when the headset is in standby mode, but my normal cable charges more than enough for me just from walking away for a bit.
