Not instant read. Takes too long for a restaurant kitchen. Accurate and a good range however.
We are a busy restaurant and need instant read thermometers to accurately temp prepared food before we serve. These thermometers were very slow to get to the temperature. It would rise by 2-3 degrees every second, but not feasible for our needs. Seemed accurate and the range was good, however just too slow.

Planned obsolescence – hence buying in bulk
Future landfill fodder because they can’t take the heat in a busy kitchen.Would save money buying my team a way nicer thermometer each instead of them going through these like toilet paper.

Better Than Expected But…
I didn’t go into this expecting a professional thermometer just ones that work without paying an arm and a leg knowing they take a beating when using them while grilling. On that basis, I’m pleased. All of the worked well out of the box but one got a little wonky only wanting to work when the battery lock wasn’t closed tightly. Odd but it works. Given the ability to purchase multiple units at a good price overrides any concerns even if they all fail eventually. For now, I’ve put them to the test for months and so far, so good!
