The plastic (not glass) is protected on both sides from scratching during shipping. The mat is well cut and looks good. The back is some kind of cardboard or pressed paper. It seems sturdy enough and the hooks to secure it to the frame work. I’m satisfied with the frame. Simple black wood, which is what I want.
