Once you get the hang of it, very useful
1. I appreciate the different sizes on each end of this lock to accommodate different doors. The first version of this lock only fit standard doors! However, it still doesn’t fit EVERY door you’ll come across so it’s not the perfect solution.2. The instructions for using the lock were lacking. I had to watch YouTube videos to figure it out! This isn’t a huge problem, but you may need to practice hooking it onto doors at home before going into public with it!3. This lock is very sturdy! Once it’s secured onto the correctly-sized door, it provides lots of comfort and safety in public restrooms (where I use it the most). Other portable locks that are purely metal bend, but this lock maintains its shape.

Buyer Beware. Does not work on all doors.
The first sentence included in the instructions (in very small print) to this device states that there must be a space between your door and the jam for this to work. I have an old home (1800s) and heavy, well constructed, wooden, thick doors. There is a very tight fit and little space between the door and the jam/frame. For that reason, this would not work on my door. I am keeping the item for now to see if it works on a hotel room door while on vacation. If it doesnât work on that door, I will be returning.

Must have space between door to work
Be careful before buying, and check the door you need to lock. This unfortunately did not work on the door that I needed it to work on, because it needs a sizeable gap between the closed door and door frame to fit the lock. Even if the dimensions of the deadbolts and holes fit perfectly, if you don’t have the gap, it’s useless.I tried it on a door that does have the gap, and it certainly works — so if you have a door that fits all the specifications, it will do its job. The instructions provided makes it very clear, and most people will likely not have problems with figuring out how to install it. However, since it’s advertised as a travel safety lock, there’s no guarantee hotel doors will be able to be locked through this, considering how there’s a wide variety of doors and shapes and sizes out there. Just be very very careful before you buy this.

We bought this for our 4 nights away at different motels. It worked great at the 1st two hotels we stayed at, but at the last two it wouldn’t fit in the latch even though you have 2 sizes. I love the concept though and will take it on future trips.

I bought this because I was traveling alone for a week and let me tell you it comforted me so much knowing I had this. You just put it between the door and the frame and you close the door and it blocks the door for opening. It is very sturdy and inexpensive in my opinion. I used it for the whole week and it reassured me a lot I recommend for girls who travel alone or even live alone (for at home).
