This is a great compass for those looking to map out and track a backcountry hike. It comes with decent instructions, though you can tell it’s been translated to English. I’d recommend training up with some online videos though. That said, this is a great compass. Seemingly durable (only been on 3 hikes so far), accurate, and has everything you need to stay on course…if you know what you’re doing. It’s advanced for sure. Only minor issue is that it’s relatively heavy. That said, it’s made to be durable, but just know that it’s a tad clunky. I would recommend for those looking to learn land navigation and those that are well-versed.

Surprisingly good compass
I bought this compass for my young son to learn on. I needed to shoot an azimuth so I opened the box and used this compass as I couldn’t find mine. This was really nice to use and felt heavy and appears well made. I paid much more for a military lensatic compass that I bought decades ago. This one is actually nicer to use.
