AWESOME women Arctix womens snow pants
I’ll be spending a week in the snow. I ordered some “slim” fit snow pants with a huge amount of good reviews and was incredibly disappointed. First, they’re mens cut – weird awkward fit – second, they just weren’t warm. I was in dry 63 degree weather and I may as well have been wearing jeans. So, I ordered Arctix brand womens snow pants. Much much more insulated. Actually cut for a woman’s form so they fit very well! I’m not in the snow yet but it’s a windy 50 degree day and I was as warm as I could possibly be – I ordered another pair right away! For me, they run a bit big but not so big that they look clownish. Big enough to slip some thermal pants underneath (for the snow) and still be comfortable. You can adjust the waist on these because they have sturdy Velcro – there’s also loops for a belt. I freaking love these. Forget the slim look – yeah they’d be cuter but you’ll be freezing. These also have room to comfortably go over your snow boots on the bottom – OR – as I did, fold back once down near the cuffs (we used to call this pegging our pants back in the 80’s haha) and bring my boots up over them – tie boots snugly and they feel softer than the sock and boots only. Highly recommend! Arrived next day! I’m 5”6 and weigh probably 132 pounds right now. I have short legs so I got the medium short size and they’re a freaking dream! PS – they look really good! I’m pleasantly surprised with how great they look for well insulated snow pants. Don’t hesitate – get these!EDIT TO ADD – I had my week in the snow. From 40 degrees to 19 degrees – the pants totally kept me warm. The snow pretty much rolled right off – I can’t speak to how water resistant these are because it wasn’t slushy snow – but I’ve got to think they would’ve been at least a LITTLE wet. They weren’t. Loved these. So warm that when I went to a bar after hiking in the snow – I was pretty toasty and went outside a few times to cool off. Definitely warm. Definitely comfortable. Definitely recommend.

    Warm, dry, fits well
I have had these pants for 6 years now, and I just had to come on here and say how much I love them. They are warm, and warer proof, thick but not too too bulky, and pretty flattering IMO. They also have the inside layer that tucks into your boots, which is a must for me. I’ve sent this link to many friends over the years. I live in New England and have two kids. I’m realistically out in the snow probably 4 or 5 times a year, so they’ve lasted a long time, but dont really get tons of wear. I was just out this past weekend. We had 16″ of snow and it was in the low 20s. I was out playing and sledding with the kids for 4 hours. Literally sitting and rolling in the snow. Stayed completely dry and warm. I usually wear them over a pair of leggings or light joggers. I’m 5’3″ and about 135 lb. I have thick thighs and butt, and usually wear a 6 or 8 pants. I have the size Large Short. They are a little big on me (I bought them when I was quite a bit heavier after having my second kid, back then I was more like a 10 or 12 and they fit well) I could probably wear a size Medium now, but they still work fine though, because they have straps to adjust the waist, and like I said I usually wear them over a light layer anyway. In fact, if I bought them again now I’d probably still buy the large just to make sure I have plenty of room to move around.

warm, waterproof, nice for snowshoing- material all little execessive below the knee
I bought these to wear snowshoeing with my sons’ Cub Scouts pack. They were warm and did a good job of keeping me dry. I feel like ths sizing is true, maybe a little roomy. I wore a size large (I usually wear a size 10 in women’s pants) and they were roomy enough to wear pants underneath. My only complaint is that the lower part of the pant leg from the knee down is really wide. Lots of excess fabric- they sort of feel like wearing bell bottoms. I guess this might be useful for wearing over ski boots, but it seemed like over-kill. I would love a more straight-leg option from Arctix. (side note- I really appreciate that Arctix has husky sizing for kids so I try to be brand-loyal).

Passed the Test – An Honest Review
I bought these because I wanted something that would stand out on the mountain with a black coat and I was a big fan of the color. I was reluctant because I have always worn TNF but I wasn’t really into any of their current colors. For $40 I was willing to roll the dice. I’m 5’8” and around 155 lbs with an athletic build and a mom stomach. The test:I took these to Vail and Beaver Creek for intermediate level skiing. While I was there, we experienced cooler than normal conditions and wind. So. Much. Wind. The wind was 30 miles an hour with 60 mph gusts. We had white out conditions several times. The pros:I was never cold wearing these. Seriously. Not once. I layered the pants with fleece lined leggings and wool ski socks. That was it. I was pleasantly surprised by how well these worked. These held up to name brand pants that are 3x the price. The cons:The color I received was a little bit darker than the picture, with more purple undertones than the hot pink color the picture displays. It wasn’t completely off, but I felt it was noteworthy. I ordered a medium, regular length. The pants were snug and I would recommend sizing up. They weren’t so small that I couldn’t wear them to ski, but I think the large would have been more comfortable- especially sitting (on a chair lift) and bending over to put on boots. I have long legs for my height and the length fit perfectly. All in all, the cons were so minor that I would highly recommend these pants. They absolutely passed the extreme conditions test and they come in lots of fun colors.

    Warm and waterproof
I ordered a pair of these last year in an XL. I am now between a small and an extra small. I ordered the small it fit perfect. They’re very comfortable, warm, can withstand cold temperatures and our waterproof. These are the best snow pants i’ve ever had.

Very nice snow pants. I am 5’8.5 and 140lbs and they are a good fit with just enough room for an under layer. I have also ordered the L/Tall though as I like a bit more length at my height, however these are not “too” short, just my preference. Good material and a nice weight to them making me think they will be warm enough in our BC winters.
