Great Addition to My Home Security Setup!
Iâve been using the Arlo Video Doorbell for a few weeks now, and itâs been a fantastic addition to my home security system. The 2K video quality is impressive, providing clear images both day and night, thanks to the color night vision. The setup was straightforward; I connected it directly to my Wi-Fi, and it was ready to go in no time. One of my favorite features is the motion activation and real-time notifications through the Arlo app. I never miss a visitor, delivery, or even the occasional neighborhood cat! The wide 180-degree field of view captures everything happening at my front door, which gives me peace of mind.I also appreciate Arloâs commitment to privacy, with military-grade encryption that keeps my data safe. The integration with Alexa and Google Assistant is a nice touch, making it easy to control the system with voice commands or set up automations.Although the subscription plan is an extra cost, the 30-day trial was a good way to test out the added benefits like video storage, object detection, and emergency response features. Overall, Iâm really happy with this purchase and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable and versatile video doorbell.

I also appreciate the two-way audio feature, which allows me to communicate with visitors even when I’m not home.Overall, I highly recommend the Arlo Video Doorbell 2K 2nd generation to anyone looking for a reliable and high-quality video doorbell. It has exceeded my expectations and provides me with peace of mind knowing that my home is always secure.

Awesome doorbell but not Integrations Alexa could Have been better.
The **Arlo Video Doorbell 2K** stands out as a reliable, high-quality video doorbell with an impressive array of features that enhance home security. Its sleek design and advanced technology make it a strong contender in the smart doorbell market.#### Pros:1. **High-Resolution Video (2K with HDR)**: The 2K resolution provides sharp and detailed footage, even in low-light conditions. HDR (High Dynamic Range) ensures better contrast, improving visibility in areas with poor lighting or shadows.2. **Wide Field of View (180 degrees)**: The doorbellâs wide field of view captures more of your doorstep, from top to bottom, which is particularly useful for viewing packages left at the door.3. **Smart Notifications**: Arloâs advanced motion detection technology differentiates between people, animals, vehicles, and packages, allowing for more targeted alerts and reducing unnecessary notifications.4. **Two-Way Audio**: The built-in speaker and microphone allow for clear two-way communication, which is useful for interacting with visitors or delivery personnel when youâre away from home.5. **Direct-to-Wi-Fi Connectivity**: No need for a separate hub. It connects directly to your Wi-Fi, making installation straightforward.6. **Video Call Feature**: Instead of receiving just a notification, the doorbell can call your phone when someone rings, simulating a traditional doorbell while still allowing remote viewing and interaction.7. **Integration with Smart Home Ecosystems**: Works well with Alexa and Google Assistant, making it a seamless addition to smart home setups.8. **Package Detection**: This feature not only alerts you when a package arrives but can also distinguish packages from other objects or people at your door.#### Cons:1. **Subscription Required for Full Features**: While you can view live video and receive motion alerts without a subscription, many of the advanced features, such as cloud storage and smarter motion detection, require a paid Arlo Smart subscription.2. **Short Battery Life (if using wireless option)**: If you opt for the wireless installation, you may find the battery life to be shorter than expected, especially with frequent motion detection.3. **No Local Storage Without Base Station**: Unlike some competitors, local storage is only available if you have an Arlo SmartHub or base station, which adds to the overall cost.4. **Installation Can Be Tricky**: While the installation process is fairly straightforward for tech-savvy users, those less familiar with smart home technology might struggle, particularly with wiring it to an existing doorbell.5. **High Price Point**: Itâs more expensive than many other video doorbells on the market, particularly once the cost of a subscription is factored in.6. **Integration with Echo Show**: This one I have seen personally. While it nicely sends the notifications and also announces them, it doesnât load the doorbell camera view on its own. I also tried this with Alexa automation. It doesnât work. While with other brands like Ring this works by default. Since my entire camera setup is Arlo I decided to stick with it.#### Verdict:The Arlo Video Doorbell 2K is a premium device that delivers excellent video quality and a range of smart features to enhance your homeâs security. However, the need for a subscription to access its full functionality and the higher price may deter budget-conscious consumers. If you value high-quality video and smart notifications and donât mind paying for extra features, the Arlo doorbell is an excellent investment. I gave it 4 out of 5 for the challenges that I faced with my Echo Show outlined above.

Great video quality, real-time alerts, good phone app & customer support
This Arlo 2.0 video doorbell is by far the best of all the other brands. Good price/ quality. Easy install (takes 2 drill holes with electric drill), comes with optional angled bracket, wired or wireless. Setting up Arlo app was user friendly on my phone. Great video quality, night vision, motion sensor, & type of motion (person, package, animal) with the widest camera angle. The Arlo app alerts my phone within 1-2 seconds of a motion. When someone rings the bell, the app will call your phone & you can pick up & talk to the person at the door. There is a slight 3-4 second audio delay with this live-call feature tho, hopefully Arlo will work out the glitches but I was still able to get thru to my UPS delivery person.Comes with free 30 day Arlo Secure Trial. After that the basic Subscription package is $4.99/month (or $4.14/month if you pay annually) for the basic plan. You have access to videos stored on the Arlo cloud for 30 days. This was the best deal I could find of all the other brands (Ring, Blink, Google Nest, etc.) & app / doorbell / videos still work great on my phone. Nearly at the end of my 30 day trial & will definitely subscribe when it ends.Do wait till the last day of your 30 day trial to sign up for your subscription because they start billing you on the day you sign up & not on the last day of your free trial. I learned that the hard way, had to call Arlo support to get them to cancel my early sign up. Had to wait a bit for customer rep to get a higher up to cancel it but it all worked out & they were nice enough. So now I can wait till the last day of my trial to re-sign up for the subscription.
