Extra storage, just be careful what you put on it
Iâm using this to store and play PS4 apps and games on my PS4. I canât speak to how it works with PS5 other than what the description says (plays PS4 games on PS5 but not PS5 games). I donât know much about hard drives other than they provide extra storage.Usability: Iâm able to use the Pluto TV app and was able to play a local game of Call of Duty straight from the hard drive. Itâs really nice to not have to store the games that take up a lot of space, but that I donât play very often on my PS4 which only has 1TB of data. The device has about 7.5TB of usable space.Concerns: Sometimes, while not in use but on, I noticed this hard drive makes noise a sort of clunking noise. Itâs not a noise Iâve heard with devices, so Iâm concerned about the longevity of this device. For that reason, Iâm only storing PS+ games that I wouldnât be devastated if I lost.

Excellent HDD with built in fan
I’ve been quite impressed with this hard drive since getting it. It’s 8 TB (though always slightly less with formatting) and comes pre-formatted for PlayStation. It will work with any device though, as long as you format it.So far I’m mostly using it to store PS4 games on it as you can play games directly off this HDD. I do have some PS5 games on it also but you have to transfer them back over to the PS5 to play them (which is faster than re-downloading).It does have a built in fan which is nice to keep it a bit cooler and I’ve not noticed it getting very warm.Really a nice hard drive that looks good also, and which can be used for lots of things. At 8 TB, and at it’s rough overall cost it’s a really good value. Very glad I received this as it is working better than I would’ve imagined!

Great external HDD for all your storage needs. Yes, it touts Playstation compatibility, but you can connect it to other things and use it there too once properly formatted. You get the expected speeds from it and everything seems good. Easy recommendation if you want more storage space for less and don’t mind the slower speeds compared to a SSD.

Using for my PS4
I didn’t think it would work nor did I know anything came higher than a 2TB. This in fact does have 8 as I checked. Some places will advertise say 3TB and be like 2.89 or whatever. Definitely need more games than my Apex.
