Best rain jacket for the weight and price
I have a heavy duty rain coat but wanted one I could keep in my golf bag. This thing is amazing. Better than the normal golf gear. It keeps you dry. Amazing.

Great Warmth for the Weight but a tad snug
I bike commute every day in all weather and do fun rides most weekends. I got this a few weeks ago to use as my spring/fall jacket, for days where I absolutely need a jacket in the morning, but may be riding home in much warmer weather in the late afternoon and don’t want to have to carry a heavy, bulky coat on my bike. So far this works very well for that role.*** THE GOOD: **** The warmth provided for a jacket this light is pretty striking. It just has a shell and a thin liner sewn in — it is very light. Yet this morning my commute was just below freezing and this jacket kept me warm enough.* Adequate pockets. There are two front pockets for keeping my gloves in, an upper front pocket for keeping my mask and a spare gaiter in and a more spacious rear pocket that I haven’t used yet, but has enough space for my phone, my wallet, and my keys with a bit of room left over.* The hood can be worn under my bike helmet. It does take a bit of adjustment to get right, but it can keep the rain off my head without blocking my visibility.* The color is bright and high visibility, which is useful as the time change means it’s now dark when I ride in the mornings.* So far it has kept me dry riding in early spring rains. Although I have only tested this on a fairly short commutes to date.*** THE NOT SO GOOD: **** I’m currently at a “XL is too tight, XXL is too loose” weight. Since this will often be an overlayer, I ordered a double X to leave some room. And while it does fit, it is a lot more snug that any other double X jacket or shirt I own – it’s more of an X and a Half Large than a Two X Large. If you are larger and unsure of sizes, you definitely want to round up to the next size.* The zipper is a little sticky. It can be hard to work with one hand — which is a significant downside for riding routes with varying hills and winds.* There is no compartment, nor zipper, nor velcro closure for folding the hood in. You can wear the hood, tuck the hood annoyingly behind your neck or deploy it as a drag chute. This seems an oversight for a *cycling* jacket.* I still haven’t managed to actually fold this jacket into its own back pocket for storage and transport. The procedure is not as trivial as the images here make it seem. Now my commuter bike has racks and bags attached and this is light and small enough to just tuck in or tie it off multiple places on my bike so I haven’t tried all that hard to make this feature work.

Amazingly light weight and effective
I purchased this for a motorcycle ride through the jungle mountains of Costa Rica right on the start of the rainy season. The jacket was easily packed into my pack and when needed I was able to wear in massive delusions protecting me from getting completely soaked with its waterproof construction. The size was true to size I am 5â10 and 160 lbs I wear a medium in most all jackets and this fit perfectly. The tapered construction of the hood made for a nice form fit and was perfect to flip up and wear under my helmet keeping the water from running down my back.Highly recommend!

Would be perfect, without the hood, for cycling. Great winter shell.
I ran this hood in 60F rain and all winter down to -10F as a wind blocking shell. It’s a 100% waterproof shell, and 100% wind-proof, which means the breathability isn’t perfect, but the rear vent helps a lot and doesn’t let wind in.”Breathable” rain covers are fine for drizzle but this coat keeps out heavy rain.Wearing this shell with 2-3 soft layers underneath for winter riding is MUCH more comfortable than wearing a winter jacket. In the temperatures I ride in, I’ve had my back covered in ice from sweat when wearing a winter jacket. Insufferable. Sweat is an issue but manageable with this rain jacket. The material is like a waterproof tent cover. It is not the same material as a rain poncho which gets brittle and tears in extreme cold.I just wish they made one without a hood. The bill on the hood, which is great for walking in the rain, blocks vision when worn under a helmet. When not worn, it can billow up in the wind which makes checking your blind spots a bit dicey. It’s okay if you remember to flip the hood inside out and tamp it down before riding. Still giving 5 stars because the jacket does everything it promises to.

Nice but returning it
This appears to be a nicely made inexpensive raincoat. The XL fit my 5’11” 200 lb frame nicely with some room for layering. The zippers are nice and seems well made. But I’m returning it because I should have read into the description better. I was looking for a windbreaker not a waterproof plastic lined jacket. But of course when you Google something Amazon has paid their way to show up in searches even when not relevant which really gets annoying. If you want an inexpensive raincoat this is pretty nice. But don’t buy if you’re looking for a more breathable windbreaker.

I’ve purchased a blue one in a large size and it was a perfect fit for a summer raincoat. I can wear a light hoodie underneath and it still feels loose. I also purchased a neon green one for a trip to rainy Vancouver in December. It was an XL size and was perfect with a thicker hoodie underneath. It kept me warm and dry in a constant rainfall. It is very waterproof and has a vented upper back so you don’t sweat too much. The neon is very neon so in the gloom of a rainy winter day I was very visible to cars. It also has reflective strips. I don’t use it for cycling. It’s a great rain jacket for just walking around or working in heavy rain.
