Fantastic! It was Big Sur, one of my favorite places to go and just as if I were really there!
What a great idea! The quality is excellent and it makes exercising so much more pleasant. Some may not like the music, but that’s easy to turn down. I thought it was fine, but I kept it low anyway because I didn’t want to be distracted from the scenery.I was skeptical about how (or if) this was going to work, but thought I would give it a try anyway. Then when it started and I was going across the Golden Gate Bridge, which I enjoyed doing once a few years ago, I was so pleased. It was just as I had remembered it. The scenery was so interesting to me that I forgot that I was getting a great workout. I couldn’t take my eyes of the road and surroundings.I almost went over to open the window to let in some of that sea air, but stopped myself just in time. It’s Winter and somewhere around the 30s here right now, so that wouldn’t be a good idea. Next time I think I’ll turn on the ceiling fans. :)I had forgotten that this DVD included Big Sur, one of my most favorite places! I felt like I was there. Even though I’m exercising on my treadmill, not on my bike, this is just a great way to exercise. I kept wanting to stop off at that little restaurant where the gas costs 10 times more than anywhere else in the country but you have to stop there because there’s no other place to buy gas, and later I wanted to just take off down that little side road where people stay in little cabins.I can’t wait until tomorrow when I get to visit the Wine Country of California. Then I’m off to Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. I had a wonderful vacation there and sure hope it includes some of the places I enjoyed.I want ALL of these DVDs, but I’m going to enjoy the ones I have right now.Am I pleased with my purchase? YES!!!EDITED to say that I came back the next day to do this one again, on my treadmill. I bought half a dozen others, but I wanted more of Big Sur. As you can tell, I love it. Tomorrow I’m going to make myself do one of the others, even though I could happily do this one again. I rate it as a 10 out of 10.

    Pleasant Distraction While Spinning Away
The disk opens with a cycle trip across the Golden Gate bridge accompanied by classical music. The trip proceeds up the Cali coast rising and falling and curving around with the beautiful pacific on the right and interesting local scenes rolling by (including the laid-back Cali cows). I enjoy all of the scenes which include Santa Barbara, Big Sur, and Santa Cruz. The video is captured using a camera moving along at approximately head height of a cyclist, the actual vehicle used is not apparent. The acompanying music is usually a classical track. The disk is divided into segments and you can choose where to start. This disk is 4:3 format, not high resolution. I watch it on a laptop, but if you can play it on a big screen television in front of your exercycle, possibly with a gentle fan blowing in your face, you might get drawn into the experience.

Good for the purpose and good price.
The price was right for the amount of time and the photos kept the interest while stationary bicycling. That said, it did not show one continuous trip, rather separate pieced together segments and the view appeared form the perspective of a camera mounted on the side of a car and not a bicycle and there were not other bikes in front or alongside shown. So it was satisfactory; I will use it and I will look around for other DVD alternatives. .

    North to South trip.
The visuals along the California coast are very nice. I thought the music was rather anti-California. It’s simply not conducive to a workout on a spin bike. I envisioned lively jazz as opposed to sedate classical and contemporary music.

    Almost like being there…
All that’s missing is the smell of the sea and the cry of the gulls. This bike video is a treat. Starts with a smooth crossing of the Golden Gate Bridge and then takes to the coast. Choose a direction or a preferred coastline: Santa Barbara, Sonoma, Big Sur, etc. and enjoy the view while pedalling at your own pace without worrying about what’s coming around the bend or rushing up behind you. My bike sessions are longer and much more fun. I love it! Also bought European Sampler – visuals not as smooth and besides, it’s hard to top the California coastline!

    Bad quality, good idea.
Maybe if they mount something a bit newer to their suv, like the hero 2 gopro, (which is only a 300 dollar investment) try slowing down a bit, (in some spots it feels like 50mph) and maybe take a break on a real bike and mount that little camra and do the monterey lovers key bike ride, or ride around big basin, just throw a couple of real bike rides in there along with the driving, then…you get a hit. Its a great idea with a much needed upgrade.

    Great ride
Beautiful scenery and I get a great workout. I play my own tunes because the classical music is a bit slow and is not as motivating for me. There is no coaching but I am able to challenge myself so that is not an issue. I have Bike-O-Vision’s Grand Canyon/Sedona AZ, Zion Nat Park/So Utah & California Coast which are all over 74 minutes. I am very happy with all the DVD’s and would recommend them.

    REALLY JUNK
The scenery is nice BUT, what makes this AND MANY OTHER Bike-o-Vision DVDs a TOTAL waste of money are the idiotic, invasive and stupid pop-ups — you’re “biking” along and then 1/3 of your screen gets filled with: “Here we come to a slight incline in the road.” A minute or so later, you get: “Here we come to another incline in the road.” A minute or so later, you get: “This road is mostly level, with only a few inclines.” DUHHHHH!!!! Other Bike-o-Vision DVDs have such stupid pop-ups as: “The road veers to the right, here,” and “The road ends, up ahead,” just to name a few. If the producers wanted to make a cheap, stupid travelogue, then put it on paper, but NOT on the DVD to get projected onto my big screen TV. You don’t go for a “real” bike ride and have some dufus heaving banners up in front of your face, so you shouldn’t have it happen, especially where you have to pay for what you think is going to be a scenic bike ride. Save your money until somebody comes along who doesn’t insist on interrupting your visual trip.Dr. Larry Forness
