Sturdy and reliable lock
Got the lock and it feels good quality and material. However it is a little heavy but that comes with lock strength. It took me some configurations to install it on the bike though. Overall its a good find for the price.

Bike stolen and recovered. The cable itself was cut through very cleanly. The lock itself? Not so much – had about an inch to cut through still. If you have a secure way to lock your bike with just the u-lock, DO IT. I have a lot of faith in the lock itself to where I would recommend locking the lock to another lock instead of the cable – it has served me very well in the past 4 months, especially with this theft proving the lock to be rather strong. The thief also stole equipment from an electrician and doorman that likely was used in the thievery, which furthers that even against proper equipment, it’s rather strong.

Big, may have to get creative to mount on some bikes, noisy when riding and hitting bumps
This lock is pretty big, so if you have a bicycle like mine which doesn’t have a perfectly level/parallel to the ground cross bar, or you have a “step-through” style bicycle, you will have to get creative with mounting thisThe mount consists of two pieces – one for each side of a round pole. On my bicycle, the cross bar is at an angle. Additionally, it is an oval-ish shape so the included mount would not work on it. Also because of the angle of the cross bar, there was not enough clearance for the entire U lock to fit in that space under the cross bar and in front of the seat post.Fortunately, the mount rotates, as does the mount’s clip on the U lock itself, which allowed me to install the U lock to the side of the seat tube and under the cross bar. While riding the bike, this doesn’t affect my peddling, but it does affect when I need to stop and straddle the bicycle (I’m short, and my seat is high up, so I have to dismount to reach the ground.)The mount itself is sturdy if you crank the screws down, which you really have to do to ensure it doesn’t rotate in place. The same with the tiny hex bolt that holds the clip to the lock itself.The thick cable provided is a generous length and allowed for me to tether both of my kids’ bicycles to my own bike and loop through my front wheel as well. The cable is stiff so don’t expect to try to wrap the cable around the U lock itself and carry it all together; it won’t work. I had to carry the cable in my bookbag. It has two velcro wraps to roll the cable up into a large roll.My only real complaint about this lock is that as some other reviews have pointed out, it is NOISY when riding. The U portion of the lock makes a loud and noticeable metallic rattle inside of the base when locked so whenever I hit a bump, it makes noise. I am working on figuring out a way to shim the lock with padding or tape or something else to silence it and will update my review if I figure something out.

A Very Good Budget U-Lock
This is a very, very good budget lock that is just as strong as comparable products that cost much more. If you want to deter bicycle thieves this lock is a great option. The lock might not fit in the triangle area of the bicycle frame but you can mount the lock on one side (left or right) of the bicycle frame.

I absolutely love this lock and coordinate it holds my scooter safely without it being stolen and I’ve had great success with the lock while being at work I know my scooter is safe locked on the bike rack.

Is what it says! Seems sturdy enough, if someone is prepared to get through a u-lock and cable they are going to get through it no matter what brand. But they weight and size of this are fine. I have size mens large bike, 2 inch wide tires, no issue getting through back wheel, frame, ends of cable, and the actual structure that you attach your bike to. I wanted to call it a bike lock, but I am reviewing a bike lock. Is it also a bike lock? What do you call the pieces of metal that you lock your bike to???This is good, good value, it is obviously not Thief proof but I ain’t hauling a giant chain with all my groceries
