Engineering Masterpiece Perfect for a Commuter
I have a short bike commute to work. I ride a few miles through and along city traffic. I have been very lax about getting a functional tail light on my bike. I actually have so much crap on my bike that the usual mounting places for lights are already claimed by racks, panniers, bags, bells, etc. Luckily, I found this little product which has solved all my problems. The Cyclops is an engineering masterpiece. Multiple problems were approached and solutions provided in balance such that the best product is delivered. Following are some of the engineering problems that face bicycle tail lights and the solution Blitzu has provided in the Cyclops.-Light output: A light is expected to provide light. The micro-LED array is amazingly vivid and bright. Visibility, even during the daytime, is not a problem here. The bar-shaped layout also registers “THIS IS A MOVING VEHICLE” better than spotlight or circle based tail lights. Steady, flashing, and strobe light modes are included.-Weight: The Cyclops is light due to its durable plastic casing and small size, which we can trace back to its miniaturized LED array.-Power: Compact, rechargeable cell. Standard micro USB interface for mega bonus points. Some have complained that the cell does not last long enough. I put it to you that, especially for the size, it lasts plenty long enough for the commuter or regular rider. A little rubber nub snugs into the USB port when you’re not charging. I am a little afraid I’ll tear this thin rubber piece some day, but for now it’s working just fine.-Mounting: Someone was clever enough to design a square mounting bracket with enough clearance to mount the light vertically or horizontally. The mounting hardware itself is a plastic mounting bracket held by a rubber strap, kind of like a wristwatch. I ended up removing the plastic piece so I could zip tie it directly to the back of my cargo rack. It was nice that I didn’t have to unglue or cut the rubber strap to get it out.I look forward to years of use, riding through the city with my Cyclops.EDIT 2016-05-10Still going strong. In the past few months, my oldest child, a toddler/emerging kid, has assaulted the light in a couple different ways. First, he ripped off the rubber flap covering the micro USB connector. It has since been lost. The stem connecting the flap to the plastic body was very thin, making it easy to be torn off and lost. Next, he dunked the light in the toilet. THE TOILET! I’m happy to report that despite a short drying period during which the light would spontaneously turn on and cycle through modes, presumably due to water shorting the contacts in the power button, it continues to work with no perceived ill effect. Very happy with this light still.

Simple, yet easy to install and use.
Sometimes simple and low cost are synonymous with poor quality. I’m glad to say that this is most certainly not the case with this product!I was actually looking for something that could be mounted permanently, because I don’t want to have to deal with trust issues with something that just straps on. Turns out, the rubber strap on this works just fine! It’s wide enough to get some good grip, tight enough that it doesn’t move, but not so tight that you have trouble getting it on.The LEDs are no joke — they are BRIGHT! I haven’t tested the runtime, but I can say that it stayed plenty bright for a more than 20-mile ride (which was about an hour and a half). I have a feeling the runtime claims will be fairly accurate.I like that the light can be oriented either vertically or horizontally. I would prefer the vertical orientation, but as I have a small pack mounted under the saddle, I had to orient it horizontally so it wouldn’t seem like it was mounted too low. This was a clever feature. Plus, the bracket tilts! The USB charging was a MUST. I like that it uses a Li-Ion polymer and not a cheap-o NiCad or NiMH array, which means it has a charge/discharge circuit to prevent over/under charging (just like your laptop does). I know the battery will stay in top shape for years without worrying about charge memory memory. As a bonus, the charge status LED is great — I know when it’s charging, and when it’s ready! My only complaint is that I don’t like there being only one button for powering on and cycling between modes. To switch between steady and flashing, you have to hold down the button when turning it on. It’s easy enough, but I’d rather have three buttons: mode, brightness, and power. This is because I am often already on a bike ride when dusk approaches, so I’m fumbling around behind me trying to turn it on, and I’m never sure if it came on the way I had it set last, or if I may have accidentally change a mode. And it’s not easy to get on and off while riding, so I can’t just pop it off to turn it on and pop it back on. However, I’m sure I’ll become accustomed to it quickly enough and this won’t be a problem. Oh, and I must say that the button is easy to feel and manipulate, at least.Overall, this was just what I needed. It’s was a well thought out design, built well, and works perfectly. It was worth every penny and more, and I’ll recommend it highly to anyone. Blitzu is a name I’ll certainly buy again. Speaking of, if you need a headlight to go with this, I’d recommend theÂ

Be seen with these lights!
Works great! My 14 yo son uses it when he rides to his practices 10 miles away. He uses it during the early morning when the sun rises all the way to evening time when the sun goes down. It’s easy to use and mount, has good side brightness, and flexibility of choices for horizontal/vertical mount options. I feel it’s affordable with a good quality build. I love the 2 pack for the price. The lumen count isn’t as high or as low as others. Nonetheless, he is seen!

Lights up very bright
Lights are very bright and can be seen from a distance. Multiple flashing options. Easy to use and secures to your bike very efficiently. Overall great value for money and being seen at night is always a plus.

Versatile and bright
I have had those lights for less than a month, and so cannot really attest to their durability yet (the lightswitch of the previous, different model stopped working after a year), but so far they have been working as expected. Battery life seems quite good and the fact that charging uses a USB-c connector makes it easier since this is compatible with most other devices I have. The mounting mechanism works just fine for me and has multiple notches in its rubber band to accommodate different mount sizes, though the hard plastic part has a relatively small curvature which could be a problem if you are trying to mount the lights on relatively large support tube. It should, however, not be an issue if the intent is to mount it on a bike. The only small complaint I have is that the on/off switch is a bit hard to press, especially if you have gloves on, so that I usually have to take my gloves off to press it and cycle through the different modes to either turn it off or select the lighting mode I want (it has 3 different lighting patterns you can choose from). But overall this is not a big enough issue not to recommend it.

The main reason i bought this was to get a USB C light. It is Micro USB.Build quality is poor, mount isn’t great, the light isn’t that bright and it looks very average. There are plenty of better lights for less money on Amazon.
